IWM Winter School for Young Women in Mathematics

Indian Women and Mathematics (IWM) in association with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, IIT Kanpur is organising a school for women students studying in the second year of either the undergraduate or an equivalent degree and having Mathematics as one of the major subjects.

Main focus areas:

  • Real Analysis

  • Linear Algebra

  • Differential Equations

This program aims to help young students with a broader exposure to achieve conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills in the specified areas.


Women students from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, and Northeastern states of India are encouraged to apply.

Workshop lectures will be during the following hours:

Inauguration: 15th December, 2021 at 3.30 pm - 4.00 pm

Monday-Saturday: Lectures will be during 4.00 pm -7.30 pm

Sunday: Lectures will be during 9.30 am -1.00 pm.

Eligibility: Applicants must be enrolled in the second year of either the undergraduate or the integrated master's degree and having mathematics as one of the major subjects/courses during the academic year 2021-22.

Participants will be selected on the basis of information provided in the registration form. For logistical reasons, the number of participants will be limited.
