Zoom is a video telephony software program developed by Zoom Video Communications. The free version provides a video chatting service that allows up to 100 devices at once, with a 40-minute time restriction for free accounts having meetings of three or more participants.
Skype is a telecommunications application that specializes in providing video chat and voice calls between computers, tablets, mobile devices, the Xbox One console, and smartwatches over the Internet.
Skype also provides instant messaging services. Users may transmit text, video, audio and images. Skype allows video conference calls.
Microsoft Teams is a proprietary business communication platform developed by Microsoft, as part of the Microsoft 365 family of products.
Teams offers workspace chat and videoconferencing, file storage, and application integration.
What is Video Conferencing ? (Pull down)
Video Conferencing comprises the technologies for the reception and transmission of audio-video signals by users at different locations, for communication between people / groups of people in real time.
As an example Zoom is described as a cloud-based video conferencing service you can use to virtually meet with others - either by video or audio-only or both, all while conducting live chats - and it lets you record those sessions to view later.
Zoom's main features
One-on-one meetings: Host unlimited one-on-one meetings.
Group video conferences: The free plan allows you to host video conferences of up to 40 minutes and up to 100 participants.
Screen sharing: Meet one-on-one or with large groups and share your screen with them so they can see what you see. For example; you may have a few pictures of your family on your computer. Screen sharing will let you show them to everyone on your Zoom meeting.
Whiteboard : a simple graphics App for drawing on. Or you could share your computer's graphics App such as MS Paint.
