Our food pantry is in desperate need of replenishing. They are specifically requesting Peanut Butter, Beans, Canned Chicken, Canned Vegetables, and Canned Fruit. Click this link to check out the list of food items from last year's Reverse Advent Calendar if you would like additional ideas. The next food distribution is December 19th.
The Christian Education team has purchased an Advent Calendar and magnetic Advent Wreath (like the one used in the Advent video to the left) for members. Those attending church should have received theirs from Rita Furr. Ones for those unable to attend church right now were mailed November 27th. The Christian Education Team hopes you enjoy this small way to unify our Advent celebration despite being socially distant this year.

Prayer for the Restoration of God's Favor
To the leader. Of the Korahites. A Psalm
1 Lord, you were favorable to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. 2 You forgave the iniquity of your people; you pardoned all their sin. Selah
8 Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his faithful, to those who turn to him in their hearts. 9 Surely his salvation is at hand for those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land. 10 Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other. 11 Faithfulness will spring up from the ground, and righteousness will look down from the sky. 12 The Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. 13 Righteousness will go before him, and will make a path for his steps.

Leader: Today, we lit the second candle of Advent.
People: We seek your comfort, Lord. Both mighty and tender, you come to us. Prepare our hearts to be transformed by you.
Leader: Isaiah announced God's coming to a people exiled in a broken and parched wilderness. He declared that God's redemption would make a highway in the desert and change the rough places into plain. God would come as a shepherd —feeding, leading, and cradling the weary flock. This Advent, we seek this comforting God.
Unison Prayer: Saving God, look upon your world and heal your land and its people. This Advent, teach us to be tender and just, as you are. Prepare us to be changed to be more like you. Amen.
