Heather Ditmars of Faint of Heart

Heather Ditmars is the founder and principal of Faint of Heart, a Philadelphia-based interior design studio specializing in vegan design. A vegan for 25 years, she spent nearly two decades in New York's design world, working her way up through senior and principal-level roles before realizing she couldn’t truly be fulfilled in the industry until her values aligned with the work. Faint of Heart, launched in 2024, is the result: no products derived from animals, and no compromise on aesthetics.

Her background spans commercial, retail, hospitality, and residential work, in roles ranging from designer to design director, studio director, and principal at respected architecture and design firms. That range shows up in how she works: she leads teams, holds the big picture and the tiny details at once, and treats herself as an extension of the client rather than an outside vendor.

Heather's aesthetic is unapologetically design-forward. The vegan standard rarely announces itself; it tends to disappear into the design rather than define it. That's exactly the intention.

Faint of Heart's studio is in Fishtown, Philadelphia but operates nationwide, working with clients of all sectors. A project of any location or scale is easy to navigate so long as clients share the same values and appreciation for daring, yet timeless design.
