Jo Ahmedzai of Jo Ahmedzai Studio
Jo Ahmedzai grew up in a household where vegetarianism was the norm, shaped by her mother's deep respect for animals and the natural world. Becoming a mother herself brought that inheritance into sharper focus and led her to fully transition to veganism, a shift she couldn't separate from her work. This commitment inspired her to build a business grounded in those values, determined to make a positive change.
That determination became Jo Ahmedzai Studio, a London-based interior design studio creating sustainable luxury homes and hospitality spaces designed for feeling, grounded in compassion. Jo founded the practice to prove that ethical interiors can be elegant and environmentally responsible without ever compromising on beauty or material integrity.
Her approach draws on twenty years in the industry, beginning with a career spanning exhibition design, retail, restaurants, and hotel interiors for luxury brands. That work fundamentally changed her DNA as a designer, shifting her approach from creating spaces that not only look good to creating spaces that purposefully communicate and perform. Once she learned to view architecture through the lens of identity and human behaviour, it altered how she approached every project, because people are their own brand too, and every home is, in its own way, a strategy waiting to be translated into space. That shift shaped how Jo works today: always designing with narrative and experience in mind, not just aesthetics. Jo Ahmedzai Studio's bespoke designs fuse natural materials, clean lines, and refined details.
Across homes, commercial spaces and collections, Jo designs with integrity and longevity in mind, considering the full life cycle of the materials she selects, the environments she shapes, and the experiences she creates. Every decision is intentional and every space has an impact that is felt, not just seen.Â
For clients, this translates into spaces that feel calm the moment you walk in and interiors that express who they are; rooms that flow naturally and function effortlessly; and a design process that feels considered rather than overwhelming, built to avoid costly mistakes and reactive decisions along the way. Clients are guided from initial concept and space planning through to construction oversight and final styling, with Jo and her team handling every aspect of the design process. The studio specialises in creating holistic homes and hospitality spaces with warmth and character, each designed to embody the ethos and identity of the people or brands who inhabit them. We tell your story.
As Jo puts it: "Interiors should be more than beautiful; they should breathe, bring comfort, and reflect who you are."
