Liz Craig of ecc interiors
Liz Craig is the founder and principal designer of ecc interiors, a New York City residential interior design studio creating bold, sophisticated spaces that are deeply personal to the people who live in them. She believes a home should have a point of view — not simply reflect a designer's aesthetic, but reveal something about its owner: who they are, what they value, and how they want to live.
A longtime vegan, Liz came to sustainable design through the realization that the values guiding her personal life could — and should — inform her professional work as well. As she learned more about the environmental, health and animal-welfare impacts of conventional furnishings and materials, those principles became foundational to ecc interiors.
Today, Liz approaches beauty as more than appearance. She considers how materials are made, what they contain, their impact on people, animals and the environment, and whether they will endure. She seeks out vegan, healthy and environmentally responsible materials and products without sacrificing comfort, character or sophistication, and incorporates existing furnishings, art and objects with personal history whenever possible. For Liz, conscious design isn't about restriction; it's about creating a home that reflects both your style and your values.
Liz is a board member of the New York City chapter of the Interior Design Society, where she founded and leads its Sustainability Committee. She is also a founding member of the International Vegan Interior Design Association (IVIDA), a Certified Living In Place Professional, is accredited by the Sustainable Furnishings Council and VeganDesign.org, and has studied sustainable materials through Parsons School of Design's Healthy Materials Lab.
Before entering interior design, Liz worked in investment banking. She holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Tufts University, bringing an analytical and strategic perspective to her creative work.
