Facilities and Science of IUCAA

Aligned with the National theme of “Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat

The National Science Day (NSD) is celebrated every year on 28 February to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’. On this day Sir C.V. Raman announced the discovery of the 'Raman Effect' for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1930. The Government of India designated 28 February as National Science Day in 1986. 

IUCAA has been welcoming everyone to visit it's campus especially on 28 February. Researchers, engineers and all staff prepare for an elaborate informative and exciting event that day, including  various talks, posters, models, demos, video shows etc.

Director's message

Along with IUCAA colleagues, I welcome you all to our National Science Day celebrations on the 28th of February. The Annual open day is one of the important events of IUCAA, when  we showcase our various activities to general public. This year, in particular, efforts are being made to highlight  major scientific achievements of IUCAA, showcase various observing facilities and various outreach efforts. I hope you will enjoy this experience!
