I recently updated my iPhone 14 Pro Max to IOS 17 and everything has been working really well. I woke up this morning and my iPhone's touch screen was unresponsive and won't let me unlock my phone. I found a way to restart my phone by clicking the top volume button, then the bottom volume button, and then holding the lock button, however that did not fix the issue. I work primarily off of my phone so I need to get this fixed ASAP. Any tips?
My upper volume is not working at all. Only way to adjust the volume up is to press on the lower volume button and then slide my finger up to increase the volume. I have done everything to fix it, still not working even with the last 17 update. I have an iPhone 15 pro max.

IPHONE 6 Plus upgraded IOS from 9 to 12 and I was presented with "Press Home Button to Upgrade" and my Home button had not been working for some time. Did have AssistiveTouch virtual Home Button but that was not responding. This worked for me as I had read another article where it had worked. I cleaned my home button with vinegar and an ear bud as I didn't have any isopropyl alcohol. Tried my Home Button again, didn't immediately work so I kept clicking on the Home Button in a circular motion then the Pass-code screen appeared for the very first time. Entered my code and the upgrade completed successfully.
You genius. This should be marked as the top answer. The other answer tells you how to get assisitive touch but you can't bypass the upgrade screen to go to the settings. I would advise people to reset the phone first though (hold power and vol down button until the screen says connect to itunes). Please upvote this answer everyone.
BTW I tried this method... several times... it did not work for me. Every time I try to power off and on, it comes back to "press home to setup". However, the Set up as new iphone once restore process is complete, go to bottom of screen and click on Accessibility Options in iTunes. Turn on Voice Over. Then triple tap the top middle of the screen and it bypasses the need for pressing home button. And, one more thing, you'll wanna turn OFF automatic updates if on because this will keep happening to you the next time it does an update that requires press home button to continue after update is installed. So you're gonna wanna get used to updating through iTunes and even backup via iTunes occasionally in addition to the cloud.
I have an iphone 6s and I BROKE my home button and henmy dad finds out he kill me and ho to fix it. download the itunes on your computer on ipad and it should ask you to plug it on your computer than it will show this black box around the press home button to upgrade click it and BWOOM but mines wont let me do it.and your welcome!
Hi everybody! I had the same problem with my iphone 6 and a broken home button. My iphone storage is full and I want to reset it. I've done a backup on itunes and about to restore it. The first "hello welcome" screen requires a home button to continue. I managed to get past it using 3utools to add assistivetouch via accessibility settings. While restore process is running, I left it. At that time I made a passcode lock and when I came back, the screen was stuck on the "Press home button to upgrade". I couldn't press the assistivetouch that was there. After searching and doing various ways on the internet, I managed to solve it by flashing recovery mode (idk what it calls) and repeating the process restore without adding passcode. You can do flash recovery mode via reiboot but it is paid and I did it via 3utools for free. 0852c4b9a8
