This Privacy Policy explains how Itqaan ("Itqaan," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Itqaan mobile application and related services.

By using the app, you acknowledge this policy.

1) SCOPE

This policy applies to:

- The Itqaan iOS app.

- Features including Learn, Companion, Finder, Practice, Final Challenge, progress tracking, and sharing tools.

- Related support, subscription, and backend/API services used by the app.

2) INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect the following categories of data:

2.1) Account and Profile Data

- Display name or profile name (if provided).

- Language preference.

- Learning goal settings, reciter preferences, and onboarding choices.

- App settings and feature preferences.

2.2) Learning and Progress Data

- Lesson progress and completion status.

- Streaks, milestones, badges, and challenge participation.

- Scores, feedback summaries, and mistake details generated during recitation practice.

2.3) Recitation and Audio Data

- Audio recordings created when you use recitation-related features (for example, Exercise, Final Challenge, Companion, and Finder).

- Derived speech outputs such as transcript segments, token alignment, pronunciation analysis, and error markers.

- In some flows, audio/transcript processing may happen on-device; in others, it may use a configured backend service.

2.4) Device, Diagnostics, and App Activity Data

- Device/app metadata (for example app version, OS version, and basic runtime diagnostics).

- Error logs and reliability data needed to debug failures, protect service stability, and reduce abuse.

2.5) Subscription and Payment Data

- Purchase/entitlement metadata from Apple StoreKit (for example product identifiers, status, transaction state).

- We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.

2.6) Permissions Data

If you grant permission, we may access:

- Microphone (for recitation and audio recognition features).

- Speech recognition (where applicable for speech evaluation).

- Notifications (for reminders, streaks, and feature updates).

- Photo library/save access (for saving generated share cards, certificates, or progress visuals).

3) HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use collected information to:

- Provide app features and Quran learning functionality.

- Evaluate recitation quality and generate feedback.

- Power Companion and Finder recognition workflows.

- Personalize your learning path, goals, and reminders.

- Maintain streaks, achievements, and progress dashboards.

- Deliver notifications when you enable them.

- Process and verify subscription access.

- Improve performance, reliability, and security.

- Detect abuse and enforce app integrity.

- Comply with legal obligations.

4) ON-DEVICE PROCESSING AND BACKEND PROCESSING

Itqaan supports significant on-device processing, including local/offline-first data usage in many flows.

However, some features may still send data to a configured backend/API endpoint for recognition, analysis, metadata retrieval, or service reliability.

When backend processing is used, the minimum required data for that operation may be transmitted (for example audio clips or derived transcript segments).

5) FINDER / LISTENING BEHAVIOR

Finder listens only after you explicitly start listening.

When Finder is active:

- The app uses your microphone input.

- Detection can continue while the app is backgrounded if the feature is active and platform rules permit.

- You can stop listening at any time.

Important: The app does not bypass iOS security boundaries to capture protected internal audio streams from other apps. Detection depends on audio available to the device microphone path.

6) SHARING, GENERATED MEDIA, AND EXPORTS

Itqaan may allow you to generate and share content (for example progress cards, awards, challenge visuals, or other user-facing output).

When you choose to share or save:

- The generated file is created from your app data (for example scores, streaks, lesson metadata).

- You control where you share it.

- If you save to Photos, iOS photo permissions apply.

7) COOKIES AND TRACKING

The mobile app does not use browser cookies in the traditional web sense.

We do not sell personal information and do not use personal data for third-party ad targeting or data brokerage.

8) HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We may share limited data with:

- Service providers needed to run the app (for example hosting, infrastructure, reliability, analytics tooling).

- Apple for purchases/subscriptions, platform functionality, and notification delivery.

- Legal authorities when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights/safety.

We do not sell your personal information.

9) DATA RETENTION

We retain information only for as long as necessary to:

- Provide requested features.

- Maintain account/service integrity.

- Resolve disputes and enforce terms.

- Meet legal or compliance obligations.

Retention can vary by data type (for example local device caches vs. backend logs).

You may request deletion of account-related data by contacting support.

10) DATA SECURITY

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, including access controls and operational protections appropriate to the data type.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11) YOUR CONTROLS AND RIGHTS

You can:

- Update profile, language, and goals in-app.

- Revoke permissions from iOS Settings (microphone, notifications, photos, speech).

- Manage subscriptions from Apple ID subscription settings.

- Request deletion or support assistance by contacting us.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, or objection to certain processing. We will handle verified requests as required by applicable law.

12) CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

If you believe a child has provided personal data in violation of applicable law, contact us. We will review and take appropriate steps, including deletion where required.

13) INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on infrastructure and service providers. We take measures intended to protect data consistent with applicable law.

14) CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice inside the app.
