Introduction to Modern Advances in Algebra

21st-23rd February 2024

Welcome to the website for our conference: Introduction to Modern Advances in Algebra. We aim to bring together PhD students in algebra in order to showcase all of what modern advances in the field have to offer. This is the first edition of such a conference, and we are very much excited to see what this will bring!

We are pleased to have invited speakers specialising in the representation theory of finite groups, algebraic objects associated to set-theoretical solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation, and geometric group theory.

This conference offers a more 'hands-on' and in-depth approach with two talks given by each invited speaker, as well as a problems session in each of the three topics. We are also able to offer some participants the chance to give a contributed talk. The conference will finish with an option to go on a guided tour around Exeter!

See our conference poster!

Thanks for coming - see you next year!
