The Vigil Honor is the highest recognition the Order of the Arrow can bestow on its members. It is awarded to Arrowmen who have demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, and dedication to the lodge, their unit, and the ideals of Scouting.
Vigil Honor members are chosen by their peers and lodge leadership, not for personal achievement, but for their consistent contributions to others and the Order over time. This honor is a reflection of a Scout’s commitment to brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service—the core principles of the OA.
Recipients of the Vigil Honor are expected to continue serving as role models, mentoring younger Arrowmen, guiding lodge programs, and helping maintain the traditions and values of the Order. Being selected for Vigil Honor is both a recognition of past service and a call to continued leadership and dedication within the lodge.
