Dr. Ivan Sudakow is currently a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics at the School of Mathematics and Statistics, The Open University in the UK.  Previously, he held the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Dayton, USA

Dr. Sudakow holds a Master's Degree in Physics and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics. In recognition of his outstanding research on sea ice and his dedicated efforts to foster interdisciplinary collaboration between mathematics and climate science, the German Federal Government awarded him the title "Green Talent" in 2013. 

His expertise lies in data analysis and mathematical modeling for physical, environmental, and living systems. Specifically, he focuses on developing new methods in applied mathematics, nonlinear and statistical physics tailored to the unique requirements of Earth, environmental, and biological sciences. He has founded and is currently leading the Research Network on Mathematics of Mass Extinctions (Ma(th)ssX). More information can be found in the sections "Research" and "Publications".
