Asian American and Pacific Islanders

Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI), an incredibly diverse population consisting of over 23 million individuals, have made profound and lasting contributions to American history, society, and culture. In recognition of their immense impact, the US Congress passed a law in 1992 designating May as AAPI Heritage Month. Each year, during the month of May, AAPI organizations in central Iowa come together to organize a remarkable inaugural celebration of AAPI Heritage Month on the ISU campus. This event serves as a platform to promote diversity, equity, and harmony within our communities.
