BACHELOR OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE (BLIS) 

       The Bachelor of Library and Information Science program aims to prepare students with a thorough understanding of the philosophical and ethical principles of the discipline and the Librarianship profession. It equips the graduates with the composite knowledge, skills, and tools with the right attitude and values in the management of libraries, integrating therole and application of modern technology in various library operations and to be responsive to the changing information needs of the society Specifically. the program aims to:


1 Equip students with the theory, concepts, and philosophy of library and information science;


2 Equip students with knowledge and skills in the management of LIS institutions;


3. Expose students to practical trainings and research process, enabling them to acquire competencies and skills required in the LIS profession;


4. Enable students to adopt ICT in the management of library and information services;


5.Provide the competencies required to acquire a certification as a licensed librarian, and


6. Devetop students' prafessional attitudes information work.
