Race 6 - 2021

iStock Racing Series

In the media this week...

  • Press release: Cheers are heard as Airen Slipper moves through the crowd. Though everything seemed to be lost, the star of the family made good on his words and pulled off a fantastic victory. The driver himself was ecstatic as he spoke to the media. "I told you I wasn't done! That my place was still among the best! The world might have attempted to put me down, 'those' people probably also tried to screw me over, but I'll be damned if I let them defeat me!" As Airen leaves to join the rest of his family many people are confused by what appears to be a depiction of a vertical pipe with rain water flowing down it on the back of his jacket.
  • Press release: With the family's resounding success in the previous race the new Slipper Star, Ragnar Slipper, is commonly seen partying with his siblings. When asked to speak by a reporter, while absolutely smashed, he only had this to say: "Ishhh their folt theyr drivin's so *hic* Wonky... Heh. Meby if they culd get good they culd win. Hehehe." The reporter soon left the scene, for understandable reasons.
  • Press release: Solid State Drive Driver Jane Kinglet posted an image that appears to be a crude caricature depicting the iStock staff “laughing their **** off” as she is notified of her 42nd position in qualifying. Among the resulting controversy, Solid State Drive spokesperson Jack Arson stated that the drawing bears no connection to the racing team itself and is in no way endorsed by the SSD staff.
  • Varalia Spiders seems upbeat. "The fans have been great, really supportive. We just wanna live UP to that support and bring 'em a win this weekend, if we can."
  • Victor Lucky is less happy. "You hate to blame the conditions for not doing well, but I do think there were problems. It's our job, though, to work through it."
  • Paul Puffin is thrilled with his week so far. "I feel like I have this track figured out, and was able to do some things—I feel good about this race."
  • Yokum Schmidt is unhappy with some recent press coverage about how he's off the pace this season, and his performance is suffering as a result.
  • Jay Wolff, champion, is also trying to push on from a poor start. "There's just nothin' like the smell, the sounds, the whole atmosphere, to get you fired up for a big race."
  • Gary Gannet makes an appearance for local charity SOS Algarve Animals, which goes down well.
  • Vasili Mikhailov has a great week. "I have never felt better in a car than I did today, everything I wanted it to do, it DID."
  • Andrew Fiddler has a poor week "Some days you get the breaks, some days you don't. Seemed today like anything that COULD go wrong, DID."
  • Dr. Strangeloaf tries to put a positive spin on a disappointing session. "This track has generally been pretty good to us in the past--you gotta take the good with the bad."
