Race 7 - 2020

iStock Racing Series

In the media this week...

  • Press release: According to recent rumours, Solid State Drive engineers have been spotted on a shady Internet Relay Chat server discussing the production details of a “racing tank” with an anonymous party nicknamed “Tiny Turtle”. Driver Hunky Davis comments: “Well, we’ve received our new cars last week, and those extra trailers are still locked up every race. Judging by their squashed suspension, something real heavy is in there, and it’s not our race cars. If that Turtle person wants to bring a tank into the race, the rules and regulators will be their biggest obstacles. I’m not sure if the track owners will be so keen on a multi-ton tracked vehicle pulling powerslides on their asphalt tracks, but personally I would like to race against a tank. Have you ever beaten a tank in a race? Neither have I, but that’s only because I’ve never had the chance!” In other news, Hunky Davis has made extensive use of his new car’s sensor suite to broadcast his qualification races in a 360° format, which has greatly boosted his popularity this week.
  • Vasili Mikhailov has a "Perfect Storm" of great performance, pit crew cohesion and owner "love" throughout the week.
  • Avianna Muir seems disappointed. "The conditions—I didn't think they were ideal. But we gotta be able to adjust to that and come up with a plan."
  • Lefty Louis mixes up his words and inadvertantly insults AI Kraken. He apologises, but Kraken was dangerously angry for a short while.
  • Mason Shelton is thrilled with Egil Van Can's performance, as Van Can races for a team owned by his manager. He had a great week, and he's gonna be right up there, I think. But if we can get a couple breaks, we'll be OK."
  • Rodney Trotter is equally pleased. "The fans were out today, and I was just feedin' off them--turned out to be a great day for Trotter's Independent Trading!'
  • Leapfrog Jones is interviewed as he gets out of the car and removes his helmet. "The fans have been great, really supportive. We just wanna live UP to that support and bring 'em a win this weekend, if we can."
