In the media this week...

  • With the disastrous outcome of the previous race, Airen Slipper was questioned on the promises he had made for this season. His response is as follows: "There are always spots of bad luck in every season. One can not expect it all to be sunshine and rainbows. It just means I'll have to try harder. Watch out Corey, I won't let such a thing happen again!" Airen Slipper declined to be placed on the TV list this week.
  • Aaron Slipper has some great team cohesion, perhaps picking up on sibling Airen's concerns. He'll start in 6th with a performance boost.
  • Franceso Rivera has a TV interview praising one of his staff members for spotting a new area of the track which he has been able to take advantage of. He'll start in 7th.
  • Max von Passum suffers badly with tire problems and will begin in 34th.
  • Hunky Davis has a hot week with his laps, and will start in 5th with a performance boost ready to go.
  • Daniel Burman has engine trouble, including two separate oil leaks, and will begin in 35th.
  • Ben Stover also has big problems getting his tires up to the necessary temperature, and is off the pace as a result. He'll begin in 36th.
  • Valkyr Slipper has a TV interview, where he bemoans the fact that "anything that could go wrong, has gone wrong." The rookie racer will start back in 37th.

RACE 4 - 2019 - 24 turns

Advance auto 600

South boston, va

Remember that each turn is 10 miles, and is represented by the skill being checked and the group of drivers being checked. With regards to groups, 1st - 7th is TOP, 8th - 19th is MIDDLE and 20th and below is BOTTOM.

TURN 1 - REFLEX - MIDDLE - Egil Van Can (17) overtakes Varalia Spiders and moves to #3 then Travis Elford (16) overtakes Egil Van Can and moves to #3. Cucumbers Caulfield uses their performance boost to attack, overtakes Egil and moves to 4th. Corey Creek then blitzes past Caulfield, taking 4th for himself. Kerry Mackinaw (12) then overtakes Tamauria Spiders and moves to #2. (Roll: 6 Target: 3) Big change at the top already, but bonus points for Boothby Grafoe for leading from pole.

TURN 2 - TROUBLE - BOTTOM - it's a big one! Takumi Fujiwara, Elias Prichard, Flash Finley, Aaliyah Stover, Rain Winterson, Prichard Elias, Abnaber Salad, Leapfrog Jones, Garrad McKinley, Juan Solo, Jay Wolff, Oliver Otter, Daniel Burman, Vasili Mikhailov, Kiki Roseburg and Emil Ziskie all caught up in the chaos. Kieran Easter, Paul Puffin, Max Von Passum, Ben Stover, Valkyr Slipper, Urist Tannhauser, Fireplug Fitzpatrick and Conor Westfall all avoid it.

TURN 3 - YELLOW FLAG - Takumi, Elias, Flash, Aaliyah, Abnaber and Leapfrog all get going again, but it's clear that Rain Winterson and Prichard are both out.

TURN 4 - YELLOW FLAG - McKinley, Juan Solo, Jay Wolff, Burman, Vasili Mikhailov and Kiki Roseburg are all back on track, but Otter and Ziskie have their cars covered up - they're done for the day.

TURN 5 - SKILL - MIDDLE - Dominic Jackson (18) overtakes Corey Creek and moves to #5. Travis Elford uses their performance boost to defend against Mason Shelton! Tim Walker (14) overtakes Dominic Jackson and moves to #5. Hunky Davis (12) overtakes Travis Elford and moves to #4. L.A. Brick (12) overtakes Dominic Jackson and moves to #7.

TURN 6 - HEAT - TOP - lots of failed attempts this time, but the headline is L.A Brick seizing momentum and taking the lead from Boothby Grafoe just before we hit the pit section. L.A. BRICK LEADS!

TURN 7 - PIT TURN - Tamauria Spiders, Hunky Davis, Travis Elford, Tim Walker and L.A. Brick all gain boosts. Brick elects not to use his to defend against Boothby, though, who easily retakes his lead on the battle for pit lane. BOOTHBY GRAFOE LEADS!

TURN 8 - DUEL - Travis Elford can not find a safe duel and gives up.

TURN 9 - TROUBLE - BOTTOM - nothing safe about this! Valkyr Slipper, Paul Puffin, Conor Westfall, Aaliyah Stover, Jay Wolff and Vasili Mikhailov avoid the crash, in most cases very narrowly, and Urist Tannhauser uses a boost to make sure he's clear. That leaves Kieran Easter, Fireplug Fitzpatrick, Max Von Passum, Ben Stover, Takumi Fujiwara, Elias Prichard, Flash Finley, Abnaber Salad, Leapfrog Jones, Garrad McKinley, Juan Solo, Daniel Burman and Kiki Roseburg to all get smashed around a bit, and we've got another massive incident and another yellow flag stint!

TURN 10 - YELLOW FLAG - Kieran Easter gets back out, but we can see immediately that Max, Ben, Fireplug, Takumi and Elias aren't going any further today.

TURN 11 - YELLOW FLAG - Flash Finley, Abnaber Salad, Leapfrog Jones, Juan Solo and Daniel Burman all have their repairs complete and they're racing again, but Garrad McKinley and Kiki Roseburg are now classified as out.

TURN 12 - DUEL - FUME / FEUD - Juan Solo (31st) is going for Aaliyah Stover! (24) he bounces off her rear bumper but can't cause any damage and instead finds himself back one place in 32nd.

TURN 13 - TROUBLE - BOTTOM - LIKE ACTUAL LEMMINGS, THIS BOTTOM GROUP. WOW. Jay Wolff, Conor Westfall, Vasili Mikhailov, Flash Finley, Abnaber Salad, Leapfrog Jones, Daniel Burman and Juan Solo are all smashed up, again, leaving Urist, Puffin, Valkyr Slipper, Kieran Easter and Aaliyah Stover safe.

TURN 14 - YELLOW FLAG - Westfall is out, but all the other racers caught in the crash are able to repair and get going again - not a hugely damaging incident this time.

TURN 15 - YELLOW FLAG

TURN 16 - RARE - TOP - Driver incident - Hunky Davis takes a deliberate swipe at LA Brick! They both go off, tangled together, but get going again: only after dropping to the back. What senseless incident from Davis - there was just no need for that. They can be considered feuding after that!

TURN 17 - PIT TURN - Tamauria Spiders, Tim Walker, Kerry Mackinaw and Aaron Slipper all gain boosts from fast pitting. Tamauria Spiders attempts to take the lead from Boothby Grafoe, but doesn't quite get it safe thanks to his superior pitting skill.

TURN 18 - RARE - TOP - Tim Walker, sat happily in third, gets a big surge all of a sudden a few miles after the pit turn, and he takes the lead! With two boosts in hand, this could be great for him... TIM WALKER LEADS!

TURN 19 - DUEL - MIDDLE - Varalia Spiders attempts to duel Mason Shelton, winning it, but also spinning him in the process, and the impact with the wall is so severe his engine shuts off then and there! He's out! They'll be added to the feud list for sure now! Egil Van Can attempts to duel Varalia Spiders for her place, seeing her success, even though there's only two places in it. He's successful, though, and she escapes.

TURN 20 - YELLOW FLAG - some debris from Mason Shelton needs clearing up.

TURN 21 - TROUBLE - TOP - Well, at least it's not the bottom group. Walker avoids it, as does Tamauria, Aaron, Travis, and Kerry - though the latter three all have to spend a boost to be safe. This leaves Boothby Grafoe and Dominic Jackson who fail to escape trouble - Dominic can clearly go no further as he's missing both his right side tires at this point.

TURN 22 - YELLOW FLAG - Boothby Grafoe gets going again - but what heartbreak for a man who was potentially about to win back-to-back races.

TURN 23 - YELLOW FLAG

TURN 24 - REFLEX - BOTTOM - a check in the bottom group secures the win for Tim Walker, barring anything spectacularly odd. Juan Solo (28) overtakes Airen Slipper and moves to #10, Abnaber Salad (26) overtakes Juan Solo and moves to #10, and Jay Wolff (24) overtakes A.I. Kraken and moves to #8 - all three picking up valuable points right at the last gasp.
