Gurwitsch: on attention
Brenda C. Soares
The phenomenologist brings an innovative change to the concept of attention, transforming the “attentional modifications” proposed by Husserl into “thematic modifications”. These are a consequence of the structural changes in the organization of consciousness proposed by Aron Gurwitsch based on the intrinsic relationship between theme and thematic field. In this presentation we will describe some of the series of thematic modifications proposed by Gurwitsch that challenge the subjective and unitary character attributed to attention.
