This Privacy Policy applies to the ISS Watch (hereby referred to as the “Application,” “App,” or “The App”) for mobile devices, created by Lalsang Chauhan (hereby referred to as the “Service Provider”) as a Freemium service. This service is provided “AS IS.”
ISS Watch is designed to help users track the International Space Station (ISS), view its current position and orbital information, discover upcoming visible passes, explore crew and mission information, and access available space-related live feeds.
Depending on how you use the Application, the App may access, collect, store, or process information including:
Approximate or precise location, when permission is granted, to calculate ISS visibility and upcoming passes for your location
Saved or selected observation locations
ISS pass preferences and reminders
Notification preferences
App preferences and settings
Subscription or purchase status
Device and technical information used for analytics, diagnostics, advertising, security, or App functionality
Usage and interaction information, where analytics services are enabled
The Application does not require users to provide personally identifiable information such as their name, home address, or phone number to use its core ISS tracking features, except where certain information may be processed by third-party services or platform features.
ISS Watch may request access to your device’s location to provide location-dependent features, including:
Calculating upcoming visible ISS passes
Determining whether and when the ISS may be visible from your location
Displaying relevant rise times, directions, maximum elevation, and pass duration
Providing location-specific reminders and viewing information
Showing your selected observation location within the App
Location access is used only when required for features that depend on your geographic position and according to the permissions you grant through your device.
You may deny or revoke location permission at any time through your device settings. Some location-based features may not function correctly if location access is unavailable.
Where supported, you may also be able to select or search for a location manually instead of using your device’s current location.
Information stored or processed by the Application may be used to:
Display the current location, altitude, velocity, and orbital path of the ISS
Calculate visible ISS passes for your location
Provide rise times, directions, maximum elevation, duration, and visibility information
Schedule and manage ISS pass reminders
Display crew, mission, orbital, geographic, and station information
Provide available live feeds and space-related content
Remember App preferences and settings
Verify purchases or subscription status
Provide and manage premium features
Measure App usage and performance
Diagnose crashes and technical issues
Display advertising, where applicable
Improve App functionality, reliability, performance, and user experience
We do not sell or rent your personal information directly to advertisers or third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
ISS Watch may obtain orbital, geographic, crew, mission, visibility, and related space information from external data sources and third-party services.
ISS locations, trajectories, pass predictions, visibility estimates, border crossings, crew information, live feeds, and other data displayed by the Application may be calculated or obtained from third-party sources.
Such information may occasionally be delayed, unavailable, incomplete, or inaccurate due to network conditions, orbital data updates, weather conditions, third-party service availability, or other factors outside the Service Provider’s control.
ISS pass predictions and visibility information should therefore be treated as estimates and are not guaranteed.
ISS Watch may request permission to send notifications so that it can provide reminders about upcoming ISS passes, visibility opportunities, or other relevant App alerts.
Notifications may be based on factors such as your selected location, predicted ISS pass times, and reminder preferences.
You can enable or disable notification permissions at any time through your device settings. You may also be able to configure certain reminder preferences within the Application.
ISS Watch may provide access to live video, audio, imagery, or other content supplied by external organizations or third-party services.
Availability and quality of live feeds may vary and can be interrupted, delayed, changed, or discontinued without notice. When accessing externally provided content, certain technical information may be processed by the provider responsible for delivering that content in accordance with its own privacy practices.
The Service Provider does not control the privacy practices or availability of independently operated third-party content providers.
The Application may utilize third-party services that have their own privacy policies regarding data collection and handling.
Depending on the version and configuration of the Application, these services may include:
Google AdMob for Advertising
Google Analytics for Firebase for Usage Analytics
Firebase Crashlytics for Crash Reporting
Apple In-App Purchases for subscription and purchase management
External APIs or data providers used to provide ISS orbital, crew, geographic, visibility, or related information
External services used to provide live video, imagery, or other space-related content
These third-party services may collect or process information such as device identifiers, IP addresses, approximate location, advertising information, usage data, diagnostic information, or other technical information according to their respective privacy policies and your device permissions.
Please refer to the respective service providers’ privacy policies for additional information about how they collect, use, retain, and protect information.
ISS Watch may display advertisements through third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob.
Advertising providers may process certain device, advertising, usage, or approximate location information to deliver, measure, limit, or improve advertisements, subject to applicable laws, platform requirements, your device settings, and any consent choices presented to you.
Where required, the Application will request appropriate permission before engaging in tracking for advertising purposes.
You may be able to manage advertising and tracking permissions through your device’s privacy settings.
ISS Watch may use analytics and crash-reporting services to understand how the Application is used, identify technical problems, monitor performance, and improve reliability.
These services may process information such as:
Device type and operating system
App version
General usage and interaction data
Crash logs
Performance information
Diagnostic information
Device or installation identifiers where applicable
This information is used primarily to maintain, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the Application.
ISS Watch may offer optional paid subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Purchases made through Apple platforms are processed by Apple through its payment systems. The Service Provider does not directly process or store your complete payment card or banking information.
Purchase and subscription information may be used as necessary to:
Verify subscription or purchase status
Unlock premium features
Restore previous purchases
Manage access to paid functionality
Support subscription-related App functionality
Payment processing and purchase records maintained by Apple are subject to Apple’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
The Service Provider may share or disclose information only when reasonably necessary, including:
To third-party service providers that help operate, maintain, analyze, advertise, secure, or improve the Application
To provide features requested by the user, such as location-based ISS pass calculations
As required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process
To protect the rights, property, safety, and security of users, the Service Provider, or others
To investigate fraud, abuse, misuse, security incidents, or violations of applicable terms
In connection with a business transfer, restructuring, merger, acquisition, or similar transaction where permitted by law
Any information shared will be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose and subject to applicable legal and contractual requirements.
Information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Application’s features, maintain functionality, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or comply with legal obligations.
Where information such as preferences, selected locations, or reminders is stored locally on your device, deleting that information within the App or uninstalling the Application may remove such locally stored data.
Information processed or retained by third-party service providers may be subject to their own retention and deletion policies.
If you wish to request information about deletion of data controlled directly by the Service Provider, you may contact us using the email address provided below.
You may control certain data collection and App functionality through your device and Application settings.
Depending on your device and available features, you may:
Disable or limit location access
Disable notifications
Manage tracking or advertising permissions
Change selected observation locations
Adjust App preferences
Stop using the Application and uninstall it
You can stop further collection of information through the Application by uninstalling the Application using the standard uninstall process available through your mobile device or app marketplace.
Disabling certain permissions may limit or prevent some features from functioning correctly.
The Application is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.
The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information directly from children under 13 years of age.
If the Service Provider becomes aware that a child under the age of 13 has provided personal information, reasonable steps will be taken to delete such information where applicable.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information through the Application, please contact us so appropriate action can be taken.
The Service Provider takes reasonable measures to protect information stored and processed by the Application.
Appropriate technical, electronic, and procedural safeguards are used where applicable to help protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, misuse, or destruction.
However, no method of electronic storage, internet transmission, or mobile communication is completely secure. Therefore, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Certain features of ISS Watch require an internet connection to retrieve current ISS positions, orbital information, crew information, live feeds, maps, pass data, or other external content.
When communicating with online services, standard network information such as your IP address and device-related technical information may be transmitted as necessary to establish and maintain those connections.
Such information may also be processed by third-party infrastructure and data providers according to their respective privacy practices.
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically for operational, technical, legal, regulatory, or App-related reasons.
Updates may be posted within the Application and/or on the associated Privacy Policy page.
You are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically for changes. Continued use of the Application after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
This Privacy Policy is effective as of 1 July 2026.
By using the Application, you acknowledge the collection, use, disclosure, and processing of information as described in this Privacy Policy and subject to any permissions or consent choices provided through the Application or your device.
