Privacy Policy

Overview
IsraelTeach (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is operated by Until Shiloh Come. This privacy policy explains how the IsraelTeach mobile application for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Android devices (the "App") collects, uses, and protects your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with transparency.

Information We Collect

Information you provide:

Display name, when you submit a quiz leaderboard score. Leaderboard entries (name, score, teaching and date) are visible to other users.
Account information (name and email address) when you sign in with Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple
Questions you type into HOF Chat (see “HOF Chat (AI Assistant)” below)
Reports you submit about an HOF Chat answer
Search terms you type in the App. These are counted anonymously to show trending searches and are not linked to your account.
Quiz Bowl :The name you enter when joining a Quiz Bowl game, your answers and your score. These are shared with the other players and the TV for that game, and are kept with that game’s results.

Information collected automatically:

App usage data through Google Analytics for Firebase, in the iOS app only: which features you use, quiz activity and scores, sessions, and device details such as model, operating system and country. The Android app does not use analytics.
A Firebase installation ID and an app integrity check (Firebase App Check, using Apple App Attest on iOS and Google Play Integrity on Android), used to protect HOF Chat from misuse and to apply its daily limit per device
A push notification token, app version and your notification preferences, if you allow notifications
YouTube viewing activity through the embedded YouTube player, which is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy

Location:

The App uses your device’s approximate location (about 1 km) while you are using it, to calculate local sunset, Sabbath times, prayer times and feast day boundaries. This is calculated on your device only. The App keeps your most recent location on your device so the home screen widget and prayer calendar can show your local times. Your location is never sent to us or to anyone else. If you do not allow location access, the App and widget use a default congregation location (Gary, Indiana) and say so on screen.
Calendars and Reminders
If you allow it, the App creates a “Prayer time” calendar with your daily prayer times. When you choose to add a Sabbath, feast day, new moon or announcement reminder, the App adds it to your device’s default calendar or reminders list. The App reads only its own Prayer time calendar, to update it. It does not read your other events or reminders, and nothing from your calendars or reminders is sent to us.
Camera
The App uses the camera only to read the Quiz Bowl join code shown on the TV. No photo or video is captured, stored or sent.

Information we do not collect:

We do not collect payment information. PayPal donations are processed entirely through PayPal’s platform.
We do not collect biometric data, contacts, or photos.
We do not use advertising or tracking SDKs.

How We Use Your Information

Improve the App and its features through usage analytics

HOF Chat (AI Assistant)
HOF Chat lets signed-in users ask questions about our recorded teachings and receive AI-generated answers.

What is sent and to whom: when you ask a question, the App sends your question, up to your last 12 messages in that conversation, the teaching you are asking about, and your time zone to our server (Google Firebase). Our server then sends your question, those recent messages and the teaching’s transcript to Google’s Gemini AI model through Google Cloud Vertex AI to generate an answer. Your name, email address and account ID are not sent to the AI model.

Your consent: before your first question, the App asks you to agree to this. You can choose not to use HOF Chat; the rest of the App works without it.

What we keep: your conversation is not saved. It disappears when you leave the chat, and the text you type is not stored on your device or on our server. To prevent misuse, we limit the number of questions per account and per device each day, so we keep a daily count linked to your account and device. Our server logs record a scrambled (hashed) form of your account ID, which teaching was asked about, and technical details such as response time. We do not log the text of your questions.

Reports: if you report an answer, we store the answer, your question, the teaching, the time, your account ID and the reason you give, so our administrators can review it.

Google’s handling: Google processes this data under the Google Cloud terms for Vertex AI. Under those terms, Google does not use it to train its AI models.

Accuracy: answers are AI-generated and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Search the Scriptures for yourself.

Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Google Firebase: authentication, database, server functions, push notifications and app integrity checks (policies.google.com/privacy)
Google Analytics for Firebase: app usage analytics (policies.google.com/privacy)
Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini): generating HOF Chat answers (cloud.google.com/terms/data-processing-addendum)
YouTube: streaming teaching videos and thumbnails (policies.google.com/privacy)
Google Drive: hosting study PDFs (policies.google.com/privacy)
GitHub: hosting teaching transcripts (docs.github.com/site-policy/privacy-policies)
bible-api.com: retrieving KJV Bible passages. The passage requested and your device’s network address are visible to this service.
Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple: optional account sign-in (policies.google.com/privacy, apple.com/legal/privacy)
Apple App Attest: confirming requests come from the genuine App (apple.com/legal/privacy)
Google Play Integrity: confirming requests come from the genuine Android app (policies.google.com/privacy)
PayPal: processing voluntary donations (paypal.com/privacy)

Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, which employs industry-standard security measures. Quiz leaderboard entries are stored in Firebase Firestore and are visible to other users of the App. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

Children’s Privacy
The IsraelTeach app is suitable for all ages and contains no mature content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users under 13 should not submit scores to the leaderboard or use HOF Chat.

Your Rights
You may at any time: sign out; choose not to use HOF Chat; or turn off location access and push notifications in your device settings. You may delete your account from within the App. This removes your account, quiz progress, leaderboard entries, Sabbath Bowl plays, Quiz Bowl game data, HOF Chat reports, notification tokens and HOF Chat usage counts. A per-device HOF Chat daily count is kept to prevent misuse. Quiz Bowl games are deleted automatically 30 days after they end.

Content
The IsraelTeach app streams biblical teaching content from the IsraelTeach YouTube channel. Some teachings may reference biblical prophecy, including references to war, judgment, and end-times events as described in Scripture (including the book of Revelation). All content is presented in a religious and educational context appropriate for all ages.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
