How do I get to the conference venue?

The closest local stations to the venue, Tokyo Seitoku University, are Jujo Station on the JR Saikyo Line, and Higashi Jujo Station on the JR Keihin Tohoku Line. How is the weather in Tokyo in late July?

Late July is the beginning of summer in Tokyo. It is usually sunny, hot and humid; the average high should be around 30 degrees Celsius (sometimes higher), and the humidity should be nearly 80 percent. It is highly recommended to stay away from heat and stay hydrated to avoid heatstroke. In addition, torrential rains should be expected sometimes; it is advised to carry an umbrella with you.

What type of tickets/passes available for traveling in Tokyo?

The pre-paid IC cards are the most convenient. They allow you to travel on most of the major public transports across the country, not merely in Tokyo. There are two types of card available: SUICA (sold at JR stations) and PASMO (sold at underground stations). SUICA can be used in the PASMO areas and vice versa. You can top up the card at any train/underground station and on the bus. Also, there are several discount tickets for tourists traveling by train and underground.
