The national shortage of PPE has devastated the ability of healthcare professionals to safely take care of our patients. In the outpatient setting, PCPs and specialists services has largely been limited to telemedicine, but the physical evaluation for a simple complaint like a skin infection or cough / wheezing can mean the difference between sending a patient to the ER vs safely providing out-patient treatment. National PPE guidelines started with single use N95 to surgical masks to now recommending DIY masks and bandanas.

We built the simple Isolation Wall to provide high-level protection against COVID-19 and preserve PPE stock while allowing PCPs and specialists to see patients and keep them out of the ER in this critical period. The wall is custom fabricated in Portland, OR and costs about $1,000 to build. The wall can be used indefinitely and is customizable (parts are interchangeable). This effort is not-for-profit and we are happy to share design specifications for anybody who wants to build it themselves.
