Distracted driving is a leading cause of motor vehicle accidents. 9 people die per day because of preventable distracted driving. 60% of teen crashes involve driver distraction.
Let's train a generation of safer drivers using todays technology. By monitoring, tracking and analyzing behavior behind the wheel, we're able to personally guide and instruct drivers like never before.
By using personal apps, commercial hardware and non-profit awareness experiences we can affect lasting behavioral change toward a world of safer drivers.
Utilize head and eye-tracking software with machine learning to determine the driver's field of vision for any user in any vehicle.
Artificial Intelligence analyzes live video to identify differences between good and bad driving behavior.
Data sets are measured with the use of Machine Learning to compile a distraction score. A post-trip summary includes a list of top distractions and video of distracted events.
Use machine learning to evolve post-trip recommendations and evolve pre-trip recommendations. Creating challenges through friend groups, family connections, schools, and nationally.
Using apps, hardware, and built-in automotive technology. In partnership with The Kiefer Foundation we can help build awareness through their traveling mixed reality experience.
Early conversations ranged from mental health identifiers to Instagram quote generators, but when the topic of distracted driving surfaced we all felt a connection. The Kiefer Foundation is near and dear to our hearts in Detroit and when the team realized we had the opportunity to align our Hackathon concept with the foundation, we didn't look anywhere else.
Whiteboard concepts transformed into digital mockups, story boards paved the way for PowerPoint slides and biometric data was scanned as a prototype materialized.
We finished mocking up assets and prototypes and headed out to shoot video testing our concept.
While the fight to end distracted driving is not new, our approach is.
There are apps that prohibit calls or texts while a vehicle is in motion but with a simple swipe those apps are disabled. There’s technology currently in vehicles to help prevent possible collisions but nothing to help the driver learn where they went wrong.
By implanting Third Eye Drive into vehicles via app or stand alone hardware we can begin to educate and correct drivers at the source. This gives us more devices, more users and more data to learn from.
