Doc Scanner stores your scans on your device only, in encrypted form. We do not collect your documents, require an account, or sell your scans. The free version may show a Google rewarded ad after a successful scan. A one-time in-app purchase removes ads for life.
IsmatApps (“we”, “us”) develops Doc Scanner. This policy explains how the Android app on Google Play handles information.
• Data collection by the developer: none. No accounts, no telemetry, no cloud sync.
• Internet access: used only for Google rewarded ads, Google Play Billing, and optional Support / More / Privacy links.
• Where scans are stored: on your device, encrypted (AES-256-GCM).
• Who can access your scans: you, on this device, unless you choose to share.
• Ads: Google rewarded ads after a successful scan, unless you buy lifetime unlock.
• Cloud backup of scans: excluded from Auto Backup and device transfer where the OS allows.
Doc Scanner does not:
• Collect, transmit, sell, or share your documents or personal data with the developer or third parties
• Require an account or email address to use the app
• Upload scans, filenames, or usage history to our servers (we do not operate data-collection servers for this app)
• Use your documents for advertising
• Access your contacts, microphone, precise location, or call logs
• Request the host-app CAMERA permission. Capture runs in Google Play services.
To provide scanning, Doc Scanner stores locally:
• Encrypted scan files (PDF or JPEG) in app-private storage
• A first-run walkthrough completion flag
• A local lifetime-unlock flag after Google Play confirms the purchase
• Temporary decrypted copies only while you open or share a document (cleared afterward)
• Temporary front and back images during a 2-sided scan, until you save or discard
Uninstalling Doc Scanner removes this data, subject to how your device handles app data. Scans are excluded from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer where the operating system allows.
Doc Scanner does not declare CAMERA, storage, or photos permissions. It does declare internet and network state so Google can serve optional rewarded ads and so Google Play can process the lifetime purchase.
• Camera hardware: the Play listing requires a device with a camera because scanning is the core feature. The viewfinder is provided by Google Play services, not by an in-app camera.
• Advertising ID: used by Google’s ads SDK on the free version. Lifetime buyers do not see ads.
• Sharing: when you tap Share or Open, Android’s system chooser handles the destination you pick. That is optional and under your control.
You can uninstall the app at any time to remove local encrypted files.
Document capture uses Google’s on-device ML Kit Document Scanner, delivered through Google Play services on your phone. The scanner UI, camera, and edge detection run in Play services. You choose which result is returned to Doc Scanner.
Any processing by Google Play services is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and related terms. Doc Scanner does not receive camera frames except as the finished scan you confirm.
If you choose Protect & share, Doc Scanner creates a separate copy. The encrypted original is never modified.
The copy can include a low-visibility fingerprint in the image pixels, authenticated with a key held in Android Keystore. If you select a purpose for that copy (for example general, official, or personal), that purpose label is included in the fingerprint. The fingerprint does not embed your name, email, phone number, or other contact details. It is a provenance and deterrence layer, not a guarantee against alteration. Share original remains available when an unmodified file is required.
Shared files leave the app only because you chose a destination in the system share sheet.
If you use the free version, Doc Scanner may offer a Google rewarded ad after a scan is saved. Watching is optional. The document is already in your vault. Ads are served by Google AdMob. Google may process limited device and advertising data under Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Your scans are never sent to advertisers or to IsmatApps.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google’s User Messaging Platform may ask for advertising consent before ads are requested.
You can remove ads forever with a one-time in-app purchase (product: lifetime_unlock; intended price €1.99 or the equivalent shown by Google Play in your currency). Google Play Billing processes that purchase. We receive confirmation of purchase status only, never your payment card details. Restore purchase is available from the shield menu if you reinstall or change devices while signed into the same Google account.
Encryption, decryption, PDF/JPEG assembly, and optional fingerprinting run on your device. Scan content is not sent to IsmatApps.
Opening Support, More from IsmatApps, or this privacy policy uses your email or browser app. That is optional and not required to scan or store documents.
When you download Doc Scanner from Google Play, Google may process install, update, store, billing, and (on the free version) advertising information under Google’s own policies. Doc Scanner does not use those channels to upload your scans to us.
If you contact us by email, we will receive whatever you choose to include in that message and use it only to respond to your request.
Doc Scanner is a general document tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not collect personal data from users on our servers, there is no child-related data held by us to delete.
• Delete any scan inside the app at any time
• Share only when you choose, as original or as a protected copy
• Skip an ad after a scan (your document stays saved)
• Buy lifetime unlock to stop ads, or restore that purchase from the menu
• Clear app storage or uninstall Doc Scanner to remove local encrypted files
We aim to comply with applicable privacy laws including the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA where they apply. Because Doc Scanner does not collect personal data for the developer’s servers, we do not process personal data as a controller of an online database of Doc Scanner users. Device-local processing is performed at your direction to provide the scanning service you request.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Doc Scanner after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted in the app listing or release notes where appropriate.
