Tokens used at the Navy Canteen in Gzira also used in other Canteens throughout Malta when the Forces were based on the Island. These Tokens were used in Various Canteens in Malta and had many different values punched on the reverse. The above Naval Canteen was on the Strand, Gzira and was just a hop and a step from the Ships and Submarines based on Manoel Island. Two of the more famous of ships were called the Dee and Doe nicknames given to them by the naval personnel who served on them. The Strand Gzira was a well known Night Spot for the Sailors.
