ISHAPE 2022

May 23-27 2022, Lecce, Italy

1st Int. Workshop on Intelligent Systems in Human and Artificial Perception

Associated with the 21st International Conference on

IMAGE ANALYSIS AND PROCESSING (https://www.iciap2021.org/)

Conference Venue

ICIAP will take place in the old city center of Lecce at walking distance of hotels, workshops and main conference venues. The locations of the places will be shown in the following map( accommodations: tens of cheap B&B, hotels 4 and 5-stars with a large number of rooms) . Moreover, other accommodations will be available in a short range from the conference venue. The Salento region and Lecce are the furthermost strip of land leaning out, toward the Orient, “kissed” by two seas, the Ionian and the Adriatic. A rich land steeped in history and tradition stands testimony to its natural beauty and architecture. Lecce emerges from this enchanting scenario, with its Baroque, that seduce you with its stunning churches and antiques palaces. (from the main conference website)

Nowadays, perception technologies and intelligent systems are wide spread and applied to multiple environments and domains, ranging from the industrial settings (e.g. railways, aeronautics, smart logistics etc...) to smart agriculture, smart healthcare and many others.

However, if on one hand Advanced Perception Technologies that include different sensing devices such as 2D, 3D or hyperspectral cameras and devices for virtual and augmented reality are becoming largely available to a large audience of stakeholders, on the other hand, signals coming from one or more sensors need to be properly processed in order to perform anything but the most basic tasks.

Indeed, in scenarios like smart image/video processing, intelligent parameter monitoring, or high-level evaluations of complex events, the role of Intelligent Systems is gaining importance, with the objective of benefit from new original approaches using artificial intelligence and innovative data processing.

The main purpose of this workshop is to collect cutting-edge contributions in the field of signal and image processing (e.g., computer vision systems, new algorithms, or machine/deep learning applications) as well as smart data fruition (virtual and augmented reality), ranging from new methodologies to innovative approaches in different domains. Particular emphasis should be given to the application of deep learning techniques to solve common issues known in the literature as well as innovative best practices.
