Notebook Toolbox

You have here a toolbox of resources for teachers to use when analyzing student work!

Recommended Use

Use these tools to support your analysis and reflection as you determine what evidence there is that students are doing NGSS Science and Engineering Practices -- based on what you see in their notebooks and beyond.

(1) Start by grounding your understanding in the Notebook Analysis Protocol and the Science & Engineering Practices Continuum

(2) Then, use the Notebook Analysis Tool to capture your thinking when examining student's notebooks and participation.

(3) For further analysis, use NGSS Appendix F to find specific grade level examples and explicit descriptions of the SEPs.
