Theme: Evolutionary Approches to Addressing Global Challenges

The world is changing, and life is changing with it. Emerging diseases, antimicrobial resistance, climate change, biodiversity loss, and rapidly changing ecosystems are all shaped, in different ways, by evolutionary processes. Understanding how organisms adapt, interact, persist, and diversify can therefore tell us more than how life has changed in the past. It can also help us make sense of the challenges we face today. ISEB 7 brings together researchers and scholars from different fields to explore how evolutionary thinking can contribute to some of the major challenges facing our world. From genes and organisms to populations, communities, and ecosystems, the conference will provide a space to share ideas, question existing perspectives, and explore the many ways in which evolution can inform our understanding of a changing planet.

Nestled along the coast of Goa, BITS Pilani K. K. Birla Goa Campus is delighted to welcome the evolutionary biology community to this conference.
