The Baseball World Series has just kicked off, and things are already getting interesting. Teams are breaking records left and right, especially when it comes to home runs. The Orioles made a huge statement in their first game by smashing five home runs: an impressive start to say the least. Leading the charge was star rookie Jackson Holliday, whose career debut couldn’t have been more electric. He hit a grand slam for his very first home run, making him only the third player since 1954 to do that in their debut game. Definitely a moment to remember.
Meanwhile, the Blue Jays, who’ve struggled for years and have built up a pretty bad rep, are starting to show signs of a turnaround. They just picked up one of the best players in the game right now: Anthony Santander. He’s an absolute powerhouse, with 156 home runs in 761 games under his belt. He spent the first six years of his career with the Orioles, but now he’s bringing that same firepower to Toronto. It might just be what they need to flip the script.
Over on the West Coast, the San Diego Padres are absolutely dominating. With a record of 12 wins and only 3 losses, they’re sitting comfortably at the top of the MLB standings. They’ve been on fire at the plate, hitting some seriously insane shots. One of their batters even crushed a 97 mile-per-hour fastball for a home run straight into the bleachers—an unreal hit that shows just how dangerous this team is right now. The season’s just getting started, but if things keep going like this, it’s going to be one for the books.
