Software is open for people to develop and may not be fully functional -- software is "as is" experimental, meant for learning, exchanging and teaching purposes only. The studio has been open only a short while Some of the code is in Javascript and some software setups aren't optimized for speed but may be helpful for developing user interfaces for developing or coding different software for greater speed and greater music playability.
🖥️ Songboards Getting Started Demo — a hands-free music playground
The round buttons are "targets." Each one plays a note or a whole chord. You drag them anywhere on the screen and lay them out however you like, then roll over one (or click) to play it.
It's built to be used with a head tracker (like FaceNav.org): you move your head to slide the cursor over the targets, so you can make music without using your hands. Flip on Hover mode and just landing on a target plays it — and it keeps sounding the whole time you stay on it, stopping when you move away.
What you can do:
Arrange targets freely — group them however feels natural to reach with head movements.
Build any sound — single notes or full chords, picked on the on-screen keyboard or from the chord menus.
Experiment — switch instruments, add reverb, shift octave, change key.
Save your layout and come back to it.
Mute starts ON so you can set everything up silently, then unmute to perform.
