Rules ideas for 2025
Rules ideas gathered through the season from members
previous rules meeting: items in green passed , items in black did not
None of these rules have been implemented but are here to be captured for the end of season rules meeting each season.
allow all plastic wheels to be replaced with Slot.it plastic wheels. (Bruce)
Like we did with synthetic wintergreen, no more emollients on the track for tire cleaning. (you know who)
Establish a tech inspection process to follow that inspects all drivers evenly no more changing it mid season and instead we stick to he process we voted on or will vote upon. (JC)
Eliminate Vintage, replace it with a readily available brand like Revoslot Under 2 liter TransAm(JC)
Move GT to group B and move Slot.it Group C into group A (swap them) . (JC)
Change GT to (MSP style open rules) so that we have an open class in both A&B (JC)
remove the rebody rule as its easily used to gain advantage. we now have more cars and liveries available than anytime in history.
Add a way to weight votes based on participation. If a driver attends all races, their vote should count for 100% of their vote, while drivers who show up 50% of the time, should be allowed 50% of their vote. We can break it up into 1/4 votes
ban "proxy voting" in rules meetings. We dont need proxy voting when online voting could be used.
create an online vote funnel before the rules meeting so that any issue that wont get 50% of the votes needed to pass is not brought into the rules meeting.
Proposal 2:
Brushless motors not allowed.
I suggest waiting on this technology. Current cost is prohibitive - car + motor pod + brushless motor + circuit board + high-end gears @ $200+ and won’t work with all controllers
Proposal 3:
Classic Sports Racer = Front and rear wheels may be replaced by press-on (not set screw), plastic wheels.
This makes exception granted to JC Aug 2024 an official rule.
Proposal 4:
F1 class – gears may be any brand, pinion 10 tooth only, crown 26 or 27 tooth only
Proposal 5:
Trans Am – required motors are either Scalextric Standard 18,000 rpm, or Pioneer 18,000 rpm Typhoon. Gears must be plastic, press-on, 36 tooth spur, 11 or 12 tooth pinion
