Current NIH IRTA Post-Baccalaureate Fellow in the Stressors and Health Lab, examining CVD outcomes among vulnerable populations. Recent graduate of the College of William & Mary with a B.S. in Psychology and Public Health Data Analytics (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa).
My research focuses on health disparities in underrepresented communities, particularly among Latine and immigrant populations. During my undergraduate work as a research assistant in the BRAVO Lab, I studied how immigration-related stress affects substance use among Latine college students, with a focus on how social support can serve as a protective factor.
I use statistical tools like SPSS, R, SAS, and Python to analyze complex datasets and identify intervention points for health promotion. My research has been presented at national conferences and contributed to manuscripts under review for publication.
This award honors Dr. Joseph Galano, a community psychology professor at William and Mary who believed in connecting education with solving real community problems. The award recognizes students who combine research with meaningful action to help underserved populations, supporting my continued work in health disparities research and community engagement. I received the Galano Community Award ($500) for my contributions to community service and research.
I was awarded the Research in Motion Travel Grant ($1,300) to present my research on college challenges, coping motives, and alcohol-related consequences at the 2025 Collaborative Perspectives on Addiction Conference in Rhode Island. This competitive funding supports the dissemination of my work examining alcohol use patterns among international college students while providing valuable networking opportunities with leading substance use researchers.
A prestigious fellowship supporting faculty-mentored research in social sciences, awarded to select students demonstrating exceptional research potential. Selected as one of two annual student fellows to conduct independent research under faculty mentorship.
The Values in Action Award honors William & Mary student organizations that exemplify the university's core values: Belonging, Curiosity, Excellence, Flourishing, Integrity, Respect, and Service. Established through an anonymous donation, this program recognizes up to five Recognized Student Organizations each semester with a $500 award for their outstanding contributions to campus life. Recipients demonstrate how these values can be put into meaningful action, enhancing the W&M community experience while serving as models for the university's aspirational principles.
