Floral Fest is the local flower store in Los Angeles. They offer flowers and bouquets for different occasions.

Fresh flowers, unique composition, and "delivery on time" is the motto of Floral Fest.

The customers don’t need to go to the store, they can easily choose and order bouquets

and track the delivery.

The Problem

Busy people don’t have time to go to the store and buy a bouquet personally.

The Goal

Design an app for Floral Fest that allows users to easily order, deliver and track delivery a fresh and unique bouquet for any occasion.

My Role

UX/UI designer, designing an app for Floral Fest from conception to delivery.

Responsibilities

Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.

UNDERSTANDING THE USER

Working adults are too busy to spend time for shopping in-person.

Options :
Many stores have casual flowers and bouquets and a barely choice of unique bouquet or bouquet for different occasions.

Delivery Tracking :
Many people cannot track the delivery and be sure that the flowers were delivered on time.

WIREFRAMES AND USABILITY STUDY

Findings:
Two rounds of usability studies were conducted. Findings from the first study helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups. The second study used a high-fidelity prototype and revealed what aspects of the mockups needed refining.

Users want to order a bouquet for precise occasion
Users want more sort and filter options
Users want a delivery option
Users want more payment options

Round 2 findings

The final price is unclear
The confirmation message is unclear
It is not understandable where user can track delivery

Impact

The app makes users comfortable with order process and makes them confident that they will have order on time and exactly what they ordered. The smoothie order process and clear confirmation takes into account user pain points and needs.

What I Learned

While designing the Floral Fest app, I learned that many bias have influence on the result and research study is very helpful to fix this point. Also based on the research was fixed many unclear steps.

Conduct user research to improve some steps by ordering like filters, item description, checkout process.

Conduct another round of usability studies to validate whether the user pain points have been effectively fixed.
