What does IHS PTSA do for me?

The PTSA is not only a source of important school information with dates of upcoming events and a debriefing by the principal every month, but also is a meeting place for parents to come together to discuss issues of concern or new ideas with others in the school community. The PTSA should be a sounding board and a source of support for all it's members and the school community as a whole.

How Can I get involved in the PTSA?

  1. Become a member! Once you become a member, you will receive our emailed newsletter that will keep you up-to-date on all the events of IHS PTSA.
  2. Come to meetings! We have general, association meetings the first Thursday of every other month, located in Room 104. Our Assoication meetings are September, November, January, March, April, and May.
  3. Volunteer! We have innumerable opportunities to volunteer a little or your time, or become a committee member an volunteer more time. All of our events are located on the website and in the Google calendar.
  4. Follow our Facebook Page! We post many of our links to events and news on the Facebook page.

What time does school begin and end?

School officially starts at 8am with a 5 minute passing period. Beginning in the middle of September, school officially gets out on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday at 3:05 pm and on Wednesday and Thursday (block days) school is dismissed at 2:30pm.

Where do I drop off/pick up my student?

The best place to drop off/pick up your student is in the large parking lot. Cars will line up around the perimeter of the lot and the sidewalk, moving forward as students get into their cars.

What are the red CCA parking spots?

These spots are auctioned off to the highest bidders as a fundraiser for the CCA (fine arts program). The spots are auctioned at the beginning of the year. See this link for more information:

What food is available for my student to purchase for lunch?

Student lunch is available for purchase in the cafeteria. There is always a small salad bar and pizza available. There are also multiple entrees, such as burgers and chicken. There are vending machines around campus and a food cart in front of the cafeteria. IHS is also an open campus and students may walk or drive to other locations for food.

Can I view my student’s grades and homework?

Yes! All parents have access to School Loop when you can view all your students homework and grades that have been added by the teacher. By registering with School Loop you will also be sent school bulletins and emails on upcoming events and notices.

How do I register on School Loop?

Go to here (https://ihs-fusd-ca.schoolloop.com/portal/login) and register using your student’s ID number (they know what it is).

Oh No! My student’s schedule is wrong! What do I do?

It is not uncommon for all of your students’ classes not to fit into their schedule. The guidance counselors will be able to make adjustments to the schedules during the first week of school.
