Community Supported Agriculture

What is Community Supported Agriculture?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is an opportunity to invest in your local farmer. By purchasing a CSA membership, you commit to eating healthy and responsibly all season long. Because payment is made before harvest, you are supporting our farm in the lean spring months when overhead is high and income is low. Your CSA purchase enables us to purchase seeds, fix farm machinery, and pay our workers when there is little or no income coming in. Each week throughout the season you will receive a wonderful variety of certified organic produce fresh from our farm, carefully boxed and delivered to several locations in Chicago and northwest Indiana. You will experience over 100 varieties of delicious vegetables, fruits, and herbs.

How much does it cost?

Our CSA comes in three sizes during the 19 week season (early June through mid-October). CSA members receive more overall produce for their money than just shopping at the market.

Family CSA......$875

This large share is a weekly box of fresh organic produce; approximately one and a half the quantity of the standard share. The Family CSA is perfect for the family that enjoys a generous amount of vegetables, likes to preserve, or plans to share with another family.

Standard CSA......$585

The standard share is a weekly box of fresh organic produce (about a grocery bag full). Easily consumed by a household that eats and cooks fresh vegetables.

Small CSA......$390

The small share is a little over half the size of the standard share, and is great for a single person or couple who cannot use as much produce each week.

What kinds of things will I get in my box?

Your box will vary from week to week as we pick with the season and at the peak of quality.

asparagus, beans, beets, broccoli, brussel sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, celery, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, herbs, leeks, lettuces, onions, peas, sweet peppers, hot peppers, potatoes, pie pumpkins, radishes, rhubarb, spinach, strawberries, summer squash, winter squash, tomatoes
