iRona ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Anurag Mann, Freiburger Straße 63, 79576 Weil am Rhein, Germany. This policy explains what data iRona collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights.
## What data we collect
**Profile data you enter during onboarding**
- First name (optional)
- Gender, date of birth, height, current weight, dream weight
- Main fitness goal (lose fat / build muscle / get stronger / maintain)
- Training days per week, sleep quality, stress level
**Health & activity data you log**
- Meal photos you choose to scan
- Meal entries (name, ingredients, portion, calories, macros)
- Workout videos you choose to upload for form analysis
- Daily weight check-ins
- (Optional) Apple Health data — only if you explicitly connect Apple Health
**Account & purchase data**
- Email address (only if you sign in with email)
- Apple ID identifier (only if you sign in with Apple)
- Anonymous subscription receipt (Apple-issued, never your card details)
**Technical data**
- Device language code (e.g. "en", "de")
- App version, iOS version, device model (for crash diagnostics)
## How we use your data
- To calculate your personalized calorie and macro targets
- To analyze the meals you scan and the workout videos you record
- To save your progress across devices and restore it after reinstall
- To manage your subscription and entitlements
- To send you the reminders you opt into
## Who we share data with
We share only the minimum necessary data with the following processors:
### OpenAI, L.L.C. (USA) — AI meal analysis
When you use the AI Meal Scan feature, we send the photo(s) you take and your app language code to OpenAI's Vision API via our secure Supabase backend. OpenAI's API does not use these inputs to train its models — see [OpenAI's API data usage policy](https://openai.com/policies/api-data-usage-policies). We do **not** send your name, email, location, contacts, Apple Health data, or any other personal information. You must explicitly consent before any photo is sent, and you can revoke consent any time under **Profile → Privacy & Sources → AI data sharing**.
### Supabase Inc. (USA / Ireland) — authentication & cloud database
Stores your account, profile, meal log, and workout data so you can access it across devices. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
### Apple Inc. (USA) — payments & device sync
Handles all subscription billing through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. If you choose to sync with Apple Health, that data stays on your device unless you explicitly export it.
### RevenueCat Inc. (USA) — subscription management
Receives your anonymous Apple subscription receipt to track your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or profile data.
All processors above provide the same or equivalent protection to the personal data they receive, including EU Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers outside the EEA where applicable.
## What we never share or sell
- We do **not** sell your data to anyone.
- We do **not** share data with advertisers.
- We do **not** use your meal photos, workout videos, or progress data to train any AI model.
- We do **not** track you across other apps or websites.
## Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
You have the right to:
- **Access** the personal data we hold about you
- **Correct** inaccurate data
- **Delete** your account and all associated data
- **Export** a copy of your data
- **Revoke** AI scan consent any time, in-app
- **Object** to or restrict processing
- **Lodge a complaint** with your data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, email us at **privacy@irona.app** or use **Profile → Account actions** in the app. We respond within 30 days.
## Data retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep transaction records (Apple receipts: up to 10 years for tax compliance).
## Medical disclaimer
iRona provides estimates of calories, macronutrients, BMI, and weight-change feasibility based on peer-reviewed scientific formulas:
- Mifflin-St Jeor (1990) — Basal Metabolic Rate
- ISSN Position Stand (2017) — protein intake for athletes
- NASEM / Institute of Medicine AMDR (2005) — macronutrient ranges
- WHO BMI classification — body mass index ranges
- CDC Healthy Weight guidance — safe weight-change rates
- FAO/WHO/UNU (2004) — energy requirements
- Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health — nutrition guidance
These values are **estimates, not medical advice**. iRona does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. For health decisions, consult a qualified healthcare professional, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, under 18, have a medical condition, or take medication.
## Children
iRona is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
## Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where required, notify you in the app before the change takes effect.

## Mit wem wir Daten teilen

Wenn du die KI-Mahlzeit-Scan-Funktion nutzt, senden wir die von dir gemachten Fotos und deinen App-Sprachcode an OpenAIs Vision-API über unser sicheres Supabase-Backend. Speichert deinen Account, Profil, Mahlzeit-Log und Workout-Daten, damit du sie geräteübergreifend zugreifen kannst. Verschlüsselt im Ruhezustand und während der Übertragung.
### Apple Inc. (USA) — Zahlungen & Geräte-Sync
Wickelt die Abo-Abrechnung über den App Store ab. Wir sehen oder speichern niemals Zahlungsdaten.
### RevenueCat Inc. (USA) — Abo-Verwaltung
Erhält deinen anonymen Apple-Abo-Beleg, um deinen Abo-Status zu verfolgen. Kein Name, keine E-Mail, keine Profildaten.
Alle Verarbeiter bieten gleichwertigen Schutz, inklusive EU-Standardvertragsklauseln bei Datentransfers außerhalb des EWR.
## Was wir niemals teilen oder verkaufen
- Wir **verkaufen** deine Daten **nicht**.
- Wir teilen keine Daten mit Werbenetzwerken.
- Wir nutzen deine Mahlzeit-Fotos, Workout-Videos und Fortschrittsdaten **nicht** zum KI-Training.
- Wir tracken dich nicht in anderen Apps oder Webseiten.
## Deine Rechte (DSGVO)
Du hast das Recht auf:
- **Auskunft** über die von uns gespeicherten Daten
- **Berichtigung** falscher Daten
- **Löschung** deines Accounts und aller zugehörigen Daten
- **Datenübertragbarkeit** (Export deiner Daten)
- **Widerruf** der KI-Zustimmung jederzeit in der App
- **Widerspruch** oder Einschränkung der Verarbeitung
- **Beschwerde** bei der zuständigen Datenschutzbehörde
Schreib uns dazu an **privacy@irona.app** oder nutze **Profil → Account-Aktionen** in der App. Antwort innerhalb von 30 Tagen.
## Aufbewahrungsdauer
Wir speichern deine Daten so lange dein Account aktiv ist. Wenn du den Account löschst, werden alle persönlichen Daten innerhalb von 30 Tagen entfernt — außer Transaktionsdaten (Apple-Belege: bis zu 10 Jahre, Steuer-Pflicht).
## Medizinischer Hinweis
iRona liefert **Schätzungen** von Kalorien, Makros, BMI und Gewichtsverläufen, basierend auf peer-reviewten wissenschaftlichen Formeln (Mifflin-St Jeor 1990, ISSN 2017, NASEM AMDR 2005, WHO-BMI, CDC, FAO/WHO/UNU 2004, Harvard T.H. Chan). Diese Werte sind **keine medizinische Beratung**. Bei Gesundheitsfragen sprich mit einer qualifizierten Fachkraft — besonders bei Schwangerschaft, Stillzeit, unter 18 Jahren, Vorerkrankungen oder Medikamenten-Einnahme.
## Kinder
iRona ist nicht für Nutzer unter 16 Jahren bestimmt.
## Änderungen
Bei wesentlichen Änderungen aktualisieren wir das „Stand"-Datum und informieren dich ggf. in der App.
