CAREER SUMMARY: Irfan Azam received his Ph.D. in IT Convergence Engineering from the Department of IT Convergence Engineering, Kumoh National Institute of Technology, South Korea. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Laboratory of Space Technologies, Embedded Systems, Navigation, and Avionics (LASSENA), ÉTS Montreal, Canada, where he investigates Signals of Opportunity, and Satellite Communications. He completed his M.S. in Computer Science from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2016, and his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan, in 2013. He is a recipient of the prestigious FRQNT-PBEEE Postdoctoral Fellowship Award (2023–2024) at Polytechnique Montréal, by Fonds de recherche du Québec, the Gouvernement du Québec, Canada. His research interests include Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA), Index Modulation (IM), Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (mMIMO), Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS), UAV Networks, Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC), Signals of Opportunity (SoOP), Satellite Communications, and Passive Radars.
