Welcome to the 2018 IPNG Summer Workshop!
Before you arrive
Before you arrive, we recommend that you take the time to download and install a few pieces of software (make sure you install the version that is appropriate for your system). If you have any of these already installed, please check that you have the most recent release:

- MAGMA: https://ctg.cncr.nl/software/magma - Note we will be using the 'Gene locations, build 37' file, and the 'European' population files as well.
Also, please have a text editor installed on your computer (e.g. Wordpad or Notepad++)
We've also created a Slack-channel for the workshop, which can be used to coordinate during the workshop, ask questions during the sessions themselves, and also ask questions about homework problems: Slack-channel
For portions of the workshop, we will be working with real genetic data. We will be using two datasets, consisting of microarray data from volunteers who were genotyped by various commercial services, and who subsequently uploaded their data to OpenSNP. One of the datasets was compiled for the first machine learning genetics competition. These are publicly available datasets, which can be freely shared: Download the Data Here (170 MB)
