I get a red bell with a line thru it when I adjust my volume. My ringtone works thru set up, but my phone isnt ringing. My do not disturb is off, how do I make my ringer activate again - just had battery replaced yesterday and ringer hasn't worked since

This I have noticed has been a HUGE requested feature throughout Google.

This is the Year 2023!! With a Firmware update along with updating the App this could be done. This should be a standard feature.

I have had my Doorbell for over a year and it so annoying having my normal Ringtone on my Android Phone as notification for the Doorbell!! On my iPad it uses the standard Ringtone for Facetime!! There is currently no possible way to change it.

Already having to address Arlo Solar Panel problem connected to Arlo 4 Pro (which finally got fixed yesterday by Firmware update), when is Arlo going to address this... If only I knew this annoying feature was there I would of looked elsewhere...

I have an Android Phone and and iPad, I DO NOT have an iPhone which is the link you directed me to. I have an Android Phone and an iPad as I mentioned above.

At the moment there is no way to change it on Android Phone or iPad. Why is this feature available for iPhone and not Android or iPad? There are just as many Android Phones out there!!

The norm is when bringing out a Product you make it available for all devices ie; Google Home is Android and they make it available across the board, even IOS.

Why do I get Emails saying that I got the answer to this problem within and to mark it as resolved. NO I did not get an answer to fix this problem The answer was for iPhone NOT Android.

So this problem still exists ty.

Arlo, when will you be providing a custom doorbell ringtone option for Android? While you're at it, why not just a notification instead of a call from my doorbell, especially when I'm home? I can see this has been an issue for years. I am just setting up my system, but will be returning it if it's true that Arlo has no intention of resolving this issue. It's one thing to have good cameras, it's an entirely different matter to have a crude security system. Notification customization is a pretty simple feature to program. I look forward to hearing from you regarding this issue.

Surely there has to be something a technology company can do to allow their customers to decide what notifications they need, especially if they are working from home. Other video door bell manufacturer's have this ability!

I totally agree, it is ridiculous, and especially with the several seconds of delay before that phone call comes, it was always distressing to me until I learned to ignore, that the phone would start ringing just as I was approaching the door to answer the doorbell. Especially the first few times, before I was used to that, and I let the incoming call go to voicemail but then couldn't find it! Was I losing my mind? No, the product designers were. Even after I understood what was going on, it would feel like too many things happening at once, and what if it was someone else calling about something important? Also annoying to fiddle with and cancel the call before I open the door, so that my visitor can have a welcoming experience. At best it delays answering the door and in most cases it means the person answering the door is slightly frazzled and has to apologize for those noises in the background, or if the doorbell annoyingly started prompting for a voicemail in a jarring mechanical voice while I was standing there trying to receive the person warmly.

Eventually I turned off the voicemail antifeature, and wish I could turn off the calls as well and just have the notification. Two-way communication could still be supported if clicking the notification brought up a screen in the app providing a push to talk function. If I could not do that, but could just set my own ringtone for the Arlo calls, at least then I could set a 30 second custom ringtone that makes an initial doorbell-like sound and then gets quieter as it goes. Maybe some people might still prefer the legacy call functionality but it could be made to support either mode.

Of course I know I would be dreaming to even request it, or to have any hope that it would ever be done, as it's very clear that Arlo has no intention of serving its smart home customers and does not understand their needs.

As there are zero replies to this query from both @JamesC and @ShayneS it just goes to prove that either they don't know the answer and can't be bothered to admit this or, if they repesent the company, the company has zero interest in the questions posted by their user-base.

For personalized support specific to the Arlo products you own, access Support from within the Arlo iOS or Android App. Simply login to your Arlo App, go to Settings, Support, then select the Arlo product you would like support for.

I am having the same issue, bought a ring doorbell 3 and the Chime 2nd Generation.

Just installed everything and when trying to change the chime tone get the same message as shown above!!!

Maybe I should have gone for the Nest Door Cam

Pick your desired sound from the list, hit Save Changes, wait only about a second, and then force close the app. Might take a few attempts to get the force close timing right, but this worked for me twice in a row.

I have the same issue, exactly and no matter which of the above steps I try, I cannot change the ringtone on my brand new Chime. It is just so amazing. I wonder where I else I could post to get some attention to this, like Wirecutter. Or iFixit or Consumer Reports. Customers have gone for over a year without a fix? Really?

Hi there, @Majesty! This is the expected behavior when Changing a Chime tone or setting. The Chime device will save or update with these changes. Often times when a change is not saving or taking too long to change/ update, it can be due to connection. Please ensure the Chime is well within range of your router for a good signal. Check out our Community post for tips on optimizing wifi signal strength, or RSSI.

In addition to checking Chime connection, as suggested above, and moving your Chime closer to the router, please also ensure there is not a VPN enabled on your mobile device. If possible, try attempting this change on another mobile device to see if it works.

Here is our Help Center article on changing tones, which explains the process further. If this concern persists despite trying these steps, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. If you are outside of the US, please visit here to see how to contact support.

Hi I was having cactus same problem but if you go to ring app turn off the two alarm notifications then power down your phone then turn phone back on go to ring app and turn on the two alarm notifications turn your phone off then on again it fixes the problem. However I cannot get Christmas holiday rings or notifications to work!

Same issue. Tried uninstalling the App, turning off my phone, then re-installing. My rating as Ring as a company is in the gutter at the moment. Unable to fix a broken LED blub on my 150 Floodlight and now this simple bit of functionality not working! I will not be buying anymore Ring products.

If your Chime tone is not saving as intended, this is often a sign of communication interference. As a test, moving your Chime closer to your router and changing the tone there will factor out interferences with wifi. Check out our Community post about RSSI for tips on optimizing this signal strength. In addition, please also ensure there is not a VPN enabled on your mobile device when accessing the Ring app and if possible, try attempting this change on another mobile device to see if it works.

I have a problem with my battery powered doorbell. A few days ago i noticed my phone isnt giving a sound notification when someone is pressing the doorbell. First I checked all my settings (samsung s20+) and found nothing. Then I replaced the doorbell with a new one I got from the seller. I installed the new doorbell and it worked again! The new doorbell was installed with firmware 2.0.0. The old doorbell was fitted with the newest firmware. The problem is the new doorbell got an automatic update so im back to square one.

One is in the Eufy app Notification menu under the doorbell. You should have Doorbell Ring On and Ring Alerts set to Default or whatever chime you prefer.

The other is under Audio settings. The Doorbell ringtone volume setting could be too low.

I installed the doorbell 2 pro. Same issue. All settings to ON. My wife receives visual and audio notifications when the doorbell is pressed. I only get the visual notification.

Any solution to this issue?

I did find that I could leave BT on if I turned off the Media setting for the Tesla and that will allow Eufy audio to get to the phone. Eufy really needs to hire some real developers that understand the OS they are dealing with.

Alexander Graham Bell's first useful ringer was ironically a bell that was struck by a solenoid controlled hammer. Fast forward to the iPhone's original "marimba" ringtone, an audio file of a wooden key struck by a mallet. Essentially, the same factors are at play with both ringtones. Both were developed within the limitations of the technology of the time they were presented. Human factors, and the ability of the brain to translate the ringtone as an alert, also played a huge part in the choice.

It was early 2005 and Steve Jobs already had a bad taste in his mouth from the experience he had with Motorola and the partnership that created the Rokr E790 'candy bar' cell phone. This was the first cell phone that included iTunes and the ability to play Apple's copy protected, AAC format audio files. It was a huge human interface disaster that helped fuel Steve to create the iPhone. It also cemented the idea that Apple had to retain 100% control over the hardware and software of any future Apple product. 152ee80cbc
