in ios 16, branded live wallpapers and special ones for the iphone xs max model have completely disappeared, which is very sad, I hope that Apple developers will return live wallpapers from live photo and exclusive for that model live wallpapersand that I have already tried to put several live photos as wallpaper, but they are just like a static picture and more than one tip from apple care support did not help

Android had live wallpapers ages ago and apple is still unable to crack it. The long press in ios to animate wallpaper concept belongs to the stone age. Bored of seeing the same icons and theme in ios. I might as well switch to android as it offers loads of customization and the phone turns magical and lively. If I'm paying 1000 bucks, I want the phone screen to look how I want it not how apple wants it!

Please stop yelling, DEV knows better what you like and what is not necessary for you any more. They just remove live photo so accept it, adapt yourself to new idea bacause probably you don't understand it at all. Of course they could did a pinch gesture (android style) or L gesture or any other gesture to enable edit mode for lock screen insted of hold a touch what was a live photo start but... if they decide to remove it it's just done. Sometimes if you take out you phone from a pocket and realize that lock screen widget was changed due to self auto hold touch and random edit of lock screen, please don't scream it's a new surprise like 1st April so be smiled and happy you just get a bonus.

I have an Iphone 11 Pro running the latest iOS 15.4. Live wallpapers do not work in the lock screen. Haptic touch is active, low battery mode is off, reduced motion is off. I tried everything. I tried Apple's stock live wallpapers, i've tried my own, nothing worked. In the live wallpaper review it works fine, but when i lock my screen and try it, it didn't move when i touch. However where it does work is on the screen when you swipe down from the top (not the control center), where you can see notifications, but that's after unlocking the screen. How do i get around this? I want to be able to have it move when the screen is locked which im sure is what it's supposed to be able to do.

Unfortunately The iPhone SE 2020 Model does not currently Support The Live Wallpaper feature found on most other iPhones, if you need information on how to check out how to set your wallpaper on general Check Out This Article -us/HT200285, Hope this Helps, Have A Great Day!

It is weird. You can have a live wallpaper, but you cant set a live wallpaper on the se. I had a live wallpaper set on my iPhone 7 plus and i had it backed up. I used the backup on my SE(2020) and the live wallpaper works. It seems as if they want to restrict the use of live wallpapers on the se for some reason.

Sooo before I updated my iPhone SE (2nd generation) I had a live wallpaper and it worked and even after I updated my phone to iOS 14 it still worked. but then for some reason I decided to put up a new wallpaper and it stopped working... even when I tried to put my old Live Photo back that actually worked, it still didn't.... I turned off my phone and restarted and still nothing..... help please!

Any idea why I have to move the screen slightly up to get the live wallpaper to work? I have reduced motion and low power mode disabled, 3D Touch on, tried restarting and changing out wallpapers. Nothing seems to work.

To edit Live Photos on your iPhone, open the Photos app, choose the live photo, then swipe up to reveal the effects panel. On a Mac, open the Photos app, double-click the live photo, and select Edit in the upper-right corner.

If you have an iPhone and there are videos that you want to turn into live wallpapers, you have options. However, you'll have to first convert those videos to live photos. From there, you'll be able to find the live photo in your library and set it as your wallpaper.

Creating Live Wallpapers was so much fun, and plenty of third-party apps offered presets you could use. There were some really creative wallpapers out there, and it's a shame that Apple decided to remove the feature completely.

The iPhone's stagnant photo backgrounds are a classic way to customize your Apple handset. However, as the iOS phone is on its 15th iteration, the device is capable of displaying live photo backgrounds, which can make for an even more animated and fun UI.

The interactive background also means that if there's a video you have that would be the perfect iPhone lock screen, you're in luck. It does take some maneuvering to turn your video into a live motion-enabled photo, luckily we're here to explain it to you in a few simple steps.

Live wallpapers are essentially live photos set to your iPhone lock screen and have been available for years now. Live photos offer a GIF-like animation effect on the iPhone 6s and later (excluding the iPhone SE). When set as a live wallpaper, you can long-press on your display, and it will play.

The first step for literally livening up your lock screen is converting a video into a live photo, and then you'll be able to set it as your lock screen live wallpaper. You can use any video you've shot or one you've saved to your camera roll - even a TikTok video you've downloaded. Here are two ways to do convert a video into a live photo.

If you want to use a video on your camera roll, you'll need to use a separate third-party app to turn it into a live photo first. Search "live wallpaper" in the Apple App Store, and you'll see a plethora of options that allow you to make live photos out of videos.

All you need to do here is find a TikTok video you like and then save it to your camera roll as a live photo - no other app is required. We saved this TikTok as a live photo for Halloween and set it as our live wallpaper. We didn't even need to crop out the TikTok watermark because it saves without it.

See Apple's support page here about how to set live photos as your wallpaper. If you want to really take things up a notch, though, there's more you can do - thanks to some changes in the last couple of years, you can now completely customize your iPhone home screen aesthetic by following this guide here.

What determines if a Live Photo's motion is supported as a wallpaper? Does a machine learning algorithm have to be able to stabilize it? Can a foreground object's motion occlude the background? Can supported Live Photos be imported? Do supported Live Photos have to be taken in the camera app, or can they be converted by a third-party?

Only one of the above answers is known for certain. Wallpapers Now on the iOS App Store seems to have cracked the code. For a fee, they provide a small selection of Live Photo Wallpapers that were not recorded in the camera app. The wallpapers have extreme motion which would not be supported as a Live Wallpaper in a normally-captured Live Photo. This leads me to believe that the developer has discovered how to create custom Live Wallpapers.

You can set a GIF as the wallpaper for your iPhone's lock screen, but it won't animate like it does when looking at the image in the Photos app. It's an annoying limitation on iOS, but one that's easily bypassed with a tiny bit of work.

Since the wallpaper editor turns GIFs into still images, you need to convert the GIF you want to use as your lock screen wallpaper to a Live Photo, a format that will animate whenever you press on the screen.

Before continuing, it's important to note that iOS 16, still in beta testing, no longer supports live wallpapers on the lock screen. There's a ton of new lock screen features available for iPhone, including the new lock screen switcher, which takes over the long-press gesture needed to animate live wallpapers. Dynamic wallpapers are still supported, and there are new weather and astronomy wallpapers that update in real time, but live wallpapers won't work anymore.

To avoid feeling like you need to pay to utilize any of the apps above fully, it's worth using an app that doesn't charge anything at all, such as Giphy. You can easily convert any GIF available on Giphy to a Live Photo, which you can then set as a live wallpaper for the lock screen.

Again, iOS 16 is throwing out live wallpapers in favor of its new lock screen switcher. If you love live wallpapers on your lock screen, you may want to hold off on updating to iOS 16 until you're ready to let live wallpapers go.

I'm currently making live/animated wallpapers for Android phones, which is pretty easy with GIF/Mp4 files. But I would also like to make the live wallpapers compatible natively with ios/iPhones. I've seen many tutorials on how to convert a video to a Live photo but they all involve some kind of app you need to install on your IPhone. Issue is, I don't own an iPhone or any iOS device to do that and apparently iOS emulators are not a thing, so my question is :

Other apps will even automate the process for you, making and setting new live wallpapers as often as you want. We love Muzei Live Wallpaper because it will give you a new live wallpaper featuring well-known artwork every day.
