Igneous petrology Geochemistry Group (IpGG)

Our research integrates field observations, igneous petrology, geochemistry, and geochronology to investigate the origin and evolution of magmatic rocks. We focus on magmatism, crust–mantle interaction, mafic dykes, and the genesis and tectonic evolution of ophiolites, using U–Pb zircon geochronology and elemental and isotopic geochemistry. We also explore the geological processes that control the formation and enrichment of critical mineral resources, thereby contributing to a better understanding of magmatism, crustal evolution, and Earth’s lithosphere.

PhD Admission

We are seeking a motivated researcher with a strong interest in igneous petrology, geochemistry, and geochronology, as well as the role of critical minerals in enabling a sustainable energy future.
