IPeek is a free Chrome extension that displays your public IP address, geographic location, and network information. This Privacy Policy explains how IPeek handles your data. In short: we collect nothing, store nothing, and share nothing.

1. Data We Collect

IPeek does not collect, store, log, or transmit any personal data to the developer or any third party. The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not have a backend server.

What happens when you open IPeek:

Your browser makes two direct API requests on your behalf:

(a) A request to api.ipify.org to retrieve your public IP address.

(b) A request to ip-api.com to retrieve geographic and network details associated with that IP address.

These requests are made directly from your browser to those third-party services. No data passes through any server owned or operated by the developer of IPeek.

2. Third-Party Services

IPeek uses the following free third-party APIs:

ipify (api.ipify.org) — A free public IP detection service. Please refer to their privacy policy at: https://www.ipify.org

ip-api.com — A free IP geolocation service. Please refer to their privacy policy at: https://ip-api.com/docs/legal

The developer of IPeek has no control over the data practices of these third-party services. By using IPeek, you agree to their respective terms and privacy policies.

3. Local Storage

IPeek saves your preferred language choice in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is only used to remember your language preference between sessions.

4. Permissions

IPeek requests the minimum permissions required to function:

host_permissions for api.ipify.org and ip-api.com — These permissions allow the extension to make API requests to these specific domains. No other network access is requested or used.

No access to your browsing history, tabs, bookmarks, cookies, or any other browser data is requested or used.

5. Children's Privacy

IPeek does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The extension does not collect any personal data from any user.

6. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally. Any changes will be reflected in the extension listing on the Chrome Web Store with an updated 'Last updated' date.
