Critical infrastructures are essential for a country's functioning and the daily life of its citizens. In light of recent geopolitical events, protecting these infrastructures from various threats is crucial to ensuring national security and the well-being of citizens. Safety-critical cyber-physical systems (SC-CPS) are at the core of critical infrastructure. The Internet of Things (IoT) has long been heralded as a key enabling technology for the remote monitoring and control of these systems. However, the ever-evolving IoT technological landscape, coupled with recent developments in artificial intelligence, has introduced significant technical challenges in ensuring the resilient operation of SC-CPS. As such, a holistic, system-level approach is required to maximize the benefits of IoT deployment in critical infrastructure. This will necessitate a wide range of activities, such as developing new communication technologies, protocols, and testbeds. Additionally, analyzing the intricacies between cyber and physical systems through digital twins, along with their vulnerabilities and advantages, will be essential. Finally, field deployment studies and emerging application scenarios will open new opportunities for the research community. This workshop will provide a platform for disseminating recent developments in IoT applications for SC-CPS, benefiting the wider community and bringing together multidisciplinary research communities in IoT and cyber-physical systems.Â
