CCS picks up that my macOS is set to dark mode and automatically selects the Dark theme in the CCS preferences. There are a few different dark themes in the preferences. On Windows this would likely not be automatic and you would need to select it. Typically after changing the theme you need to restart CCS for all the settings to get applied.

No problem. We are hoping to introduce a "Code Composer Studio Dark Theme" this year as there are still a few things in the stock one from eclipse that are not ideal. There are a couple issues noted in this thread:

After the long long wait for a dark theme in Jira, it finally arrived, which is great. Except, for me and for reasons unknown every time I enable it the change does not persist for long and I can't work out why. Jira keeps reverting back to the white version after a short while which is a real pain. Any ideas on how to find out why and how to fix it?

When viewing one of the affected sites (I've been testing using Trello), set Night Eye to "Dark", but also enable "built-in dark theme". So far, this has allowed the site's dark theme setting to persist.

I can't say for sure, but I think something must have changed in with Night Eye in the last few months. When I originally discovered that Atlassian sites have a theme selector, I was trying to set Night Eye to "Normal" and then selecting the theme using the site's built-in selector. Night Eye's version of dark theme didn't look quite as good as the built-in version. But I think at that time, Night Eye wasn't able to detect that there's a built-in dark theme. I don't know how they detect built-in themes, but that seems to have changed since then. Now, using the Night Eye settings I mentioned, the built-in theme is applied and Night Eye doesn't try to override anything.

I can also confirm that their support is not very supportive. I've tried contacting them a handful of times since purchasing that extension a couple years ago and I think I've only ever gotten a response from them once. Thanks @yjutard and Atlassian for actually supporting your products!

I'm experiencing the same issue with Chrome: whether I select 'Match Browser Theme' or 'Dark Theme,' it keeps reverting to the Light Theme. When I change the settings and open a new page, it initially loads with the Dark Theme but automatically refreshes within a second, switching back to the Light Theme.

I experience the same issue with Edge, so it's not browser-specific. Additionally, I experience this with Jira, Confluence, and Trello, all Atlassian products. However, I just tried changing themes while using a new InPrivate session and theme does seem to persist correctly. I have a variety of extensions installed and I see Brave supports extensions as well (I've never used Brave). So I suspect there must be some conflict happening with an extension. I haven't narrowed down which one(s) might be responsible yet.

Hi Simon, have you by chance tried different browsers? I don't know how Atlassian implemented it, if there has to do with cookies or anything like that. If you pick any of the other settings, like 'Match Browser' or 'Original' do those persist, or do they act like the 'Dark' one.

I would say if it's not browser specific, and the same problem happens with the other theme, that opening a ticket with support (support.atlassian.com/contact) would be appropriate. Maybe they're aware of an issue with it.

We do like R/C but for this sole reason of forcing a system wide colour scheme as well as the system just not being clear (you have Colours, Old Colours, Old Colours (Minor) - i.e a mess). We also have people that work solely at night. With dark mode in most OSes, browsers and so on, it actually hurts the eyes to have so much white enforced on you.

Ok, it is not just me that sees the workaround broken. Dark mode options seem ubiquitous with most program interface features these days. The workaround was not working too badly in 4.8, but 5.0 seems to have killed it.

Would it be possible to use some of the CSS to control the color of the (currently hard-coded as the elements are rendered) cells and other backgrounds using the settings for "Personal Colors and Logos.." and the workspace colors and logos dialogs?

I have a browser extension for css overrides which I use to reduce opacity and blend-modes of all the white backgrounds, but it really would be nice to have a fully "dark" theme available to use while tap tap tapping away late at night.

I'm guessing there are some companies which would like to embed smartsheet charts, data, forms, etc.. into their online presence, but the hard-coded entities' colors are preventing them from doing so.

Thanks for bringing this up, Ezra! I would like Smartsheet to natively support dark mode of some kind. In the meantime, I just installed Dark Reader and it is much easier on my eyes than the light background Smartsheet has. Thank you, thank you!

Please introduce Dark Mode! I am pushing SmartSheet like crazy in my company and some are coming on board but the lack of a proper Dark Mode is not helping. I use Dark Mode on everything I can but Smartsheet is my daily tool and without Dark Mode it is tiring.

Dark Mode 110%. I've been working in SmartSheets for the majority of the day and my eyes are burning. There are plugins for web browsers to give you the feel of dark mode but most aren't good at all and they take up so much memory it's stupid.

Make the Enhanced Editor the active window. Select Tools>Enhanced Editor from the menu. Go to the Appearance tab. Set the properties for each of the text types, comments, Data/Cards, etc. There is a small editor appearance window so you can see the changes as you set them.

This might be a good starting point for you, if you have EG 8.1 or 8.2 available. You could set the dark theme and at least note the settings, save a scheme. Unfortunately the particulars of custom schemes are buried in the Windows registry and aren't easily imported to another app...but you wouldn't let that slow you down, right?

There is a dark theme included in Audacity 2.3.3. See: Themes - Audacity Manual

The theme file for the first post in this topic appears to have been removed. We have no control of content on third party sites.

Do you guys think that there would be an interest from the audacity users if we try to create an unofficial repository of themes? Maybe in Github as well? So having a repository we can become more organized and help new users create their own skins as well.

I'm sorry I had to edit your post as your screen grab contained private information such as your name, and job post names.

Feel free to upload the screen grab again, making sure to black out your profile name, and your job feed. Thank you for your understanding.

Hey Avery, uhm lol... there was NO private information as I did put "Name Surname" instead of my real name and surname. Also, the job posts were edited to keep the private information private; so they were just examples.

So here's the reupload.

Please note: I've changed the job post descriptions to the more obvious "Lorem ipsum" text but the name still is "Name Surname", so NONE of the informations (including countries to be extra safe) are real.

I really have no idea why y'all keep deleting this image. It's kinda funny how much you just don't read or look at the posts but edit them mechanically. But hey, I can try agin, lol. Third time's a charm. I'm repeating again: NO INFO IS REAL. NO PRIVATE INFORMATION IS IN THE SCREENSHOT. The text is 'Lorem Ipsum' template and locations/places 'Wakanda' and 'Narnia', It's a dumb example of how you can add an improvement to Upwork. Just an option.

You sir, are the hero of this forum. I'm sure many of my counterparts in here have had the same issues with the chrome extension not working with upwork and now it's working like a charm. Thanks buddy!

Hi , Now these days every apps adding their feature with dark heme mode. Every body knows about the benefits of dark mode with visual comfort. May I ask how long upwork will take steps to add dark theme mode feature ???

We don't have an official way to do that, but there is a hack that can get it working for a specific editing session. When you load the file, press control-comma, and a popup will appear on the right. There you can select between various editor themes.

@tucapel -- we haven't worked on that recently but I bumped up our ticket regarding this issue on your behalf. You can change the theme using Ace editor settings (to enter them press Ctrl-, (control + comma) in the editor), but unfortunately, you can't save them.

Wow guys, this is sad. Forget the editor, how do you not have a site-wide dark theme? I don't think I would have even signed up for pythonanywhere if had not already been using...darkreader.orgFor everyone frustrated by this, just use this awesome plugin on every site and 'save your eyes'. 'PythonAnywhere Dark Editor' featured above is great and offers better syntax highlighting than the default theme on PA, but darkreader fixes the rest of the site.

Hi everyone! I found a very effective way to automatically set the theme you want when you open a file in Pythonanywhere. I'll explain the process here. What we need is to execute a JS command to change the ACE settings and set the theme you prefer. So, I set myself the task of finding that JS command, which is this:

All right! If we execute the command in a Pythonanywhere file we'll see that the theme changes successfully, now that we have the JS command with the theme we want to set, we need to execute that command every time we open a file in PythonAnywhere. We need to use a browser add-on, like Tampermonkey or another that executes a JS command when we enter a specific URL. There are many options, you just need to use the one that works best with your browser.

Some institution's colors are not working for dark mode and accessibility (or access at all) as there no longer is enough color contrast to see links to some items. Based on the blog, I think they are getting feedback from users and that might be a path toward how a web version is created. I have not been told about a web version in the works but just assuming they will not want to develop it until the current issues with the app version are addressed. 152ee80cbc
