Workshop on Intelligent Offloading, Resource
Optimization, and Localization in Pervasive Computing Environments (IOROL 2025)
in conjunction with the 23rd IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Intelligence and Computing (PICom 2025)
Pervasive computing environments demand highly efficient management of computational and communication resources, particularly under the constraints of mobile devices, edge servers, and ubiquitous sensing. The rapid proliferation of intelligent edge systems, Device-to-Device (D2D) communications, and resource-constrained AI models have introduced complex optimization problems related to offloading, task allocation, energy efficiency, localization, and latency minimization.
IOROL 2025 will focus on advanced computational offloading techniques, resource scheduling, cooperative computing frameworks, and the integration of AI/ML algorithms for intelligent decision-making in pervasive networks. Special attention will be given to topics like latency-aware offloading, collaborative learning, federated offloading, spiking neural networks for resource efficiency, intelligent localization, and energy-aware scheduling.
Given the increasing emphasis on mobile AI, energy-efficient pervasive intelligence, and edge computing in smart cities, healthcare, disaster response, and autonomous systems, this workshop is highly timely. It aims to bridge theoretical developments with real-world pervasive computing applications.
We invite high-quality contributions on (but not limited to) the following topics:
Intelligent task offloading strategies
Device-to-Device (D2D) computation collaboration
Latency and energy-aware task scheduling
Machine learning for resource optimization
Federated offloading and edge learning
Privacy-preserving offloading protocols
Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) for resource efficiency
pervasive computing in emergency communication
Real-time offloading for mobile robotics and drones
Localization techniques for wireless and pervasive networks
