Work in progress
Nevenka obtained a B.Sc. in Molecular Biology and Physiology at
University of Belgrade, Serbia, and an M.Sc. in Stem Cell Biology at the Pierre and Marie Curie University, Paris, France. She completed her Ph.D. degree at the University of Barcelona, Spain with Dr Angel R. Nebreda at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona). Her doctoral work focused on understanding the context specific dependencies of cancer cell lines on the p38α mitogen activated protein kinase.
She joined the Iorio group as an AIRC-funded Postdoctoral Fellow, developing a Cancer Drug Sensitivity Recovery Map that will identify novel therapeutic strategies by leveraging genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 screens to map genetic dependencies specific to in vitro models of cancer cell drug resistance.
