Work in progress
Irene is a SEMM PhD student in the Iorio lab within the Computational Biology Center at Human Technopole. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics through an interuniversity program involving Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, followed by a master’s degree in Data Science from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
Her research focuses on exploiting epigenetic-aging mechanisms to discover cancer therapeutic targets. By modeling methylation age and analyzing age-associated multi-omics profiles, she aims to uncover genetic vulnerabilities related to aging and rejuvenation in cancer, with the goal of unveiling new therapeutic strategies.
