Work in progress
I obtained a Master’s degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Naples Federico II. Then, I moved to Milan, where I completed a second-level master in Bioinformatics and functional genomics at the University of Milan, in collaboration with the National Institute of Molecular Genetics. This experience led me to an internship at the Stem Cell Epigenetics Lab at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) in Milan working on transcriptomics profiling of Thymic Epithelial Tumors (TETs). Later, I earned a PhD in Systems Medicine - Computational Biology working at the Translational Oncology lab at IEO. I actively contributed within the Alliance Against Cancer consortium, a network of over 20 oncology institutions in Italy promoted by the Ministry of Health working on the development of a bioinformatic suite to improve the clinical implementation of Next Generation Sequencing in precision medicine for oncology, specifically addressing lung, breast, ovarian and colon cancers. Toward the end of my PhD and during part of my postdoctoral activity, I served as bioinformatician for a Swiss-Italian biotech company, coordinating the bioinformatic team contributing to the development and deployment of computational tools for the analysis and the democratization of key insights in genomics. Since May 2024, I've been a Computational ERC PostDoctoral Fellow at the IorioLab within the Computational Biology Center at Human Technopole. I work on the ERC-funded DepSHOCK project, studying the cancer dependency shock dynamic that follows the ablation of any gene which is essential for cancer survival.
