Flavio is a SEMM PhD student in Computational Biology within the Iorio Lab at Human Technopole. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at “Università degli Studi di Bari” in 2019, followed by a master’s degree in bioinformatics for Computational Genomics, a joint course from “Università degli studi di Milano - La Statale” and “Politecnico di Milano”.  

Flavio is an official member of NeuroCOV, a multi-disciplinary and international consortium born to dissect the biology underlying neurological manifestations of COVID-19, striving to identify the specific medicaments able to treat the pathology. As a PhD student working together with NeuroCOV, Flavio is focused on the development of a computational framework able to predict new drug repurposing opportunities in a disease-agnostic fashion using machine learning-driven approaches.
