Alessandro is a Postdoc fellow in the Iorio lab within the Computational Biology Centre at Human Technopole. He completed a bachelor's in biotechnology from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, followed by a master's in bioinformatics from the University of Bologna. 

In his PhD, Alessandro has contributed to the development of tools for the correction and analysis of data derived from CRISPR-Cas9 screens based on large cohorts of human immortalised cancer cell lines. This research work aims to exploit the genetic features of tumour models to find suitable therapeutic targets that will lead to the development/repurposing of the right drug for the right patient, following precision medicine principles.
